Plowing Thru NY Fashion Week Spring Summer 2014

By Laura Medina

The great thing about Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2014 anywhere is that you get the sneak peek of what you want to buy and wear for next year before anyone else.

Parke & Ronen Spring Summer 2014 turned Greek statuesque demi-gods and gods into an Euro vision of preppy stand-by of resortwear.

Think of long, lean swim trunks topped with windbreakers and sweaters or tossing on a button-down shirt as a quickie cover-up.

Paola Hernández's  "Singularity" Collection is focused on the essential wearability of good fabric and tailoring, erasing the bells and whistles, releasing the mind and making the wearer relax enough to enjoy the warm weather and sunshine.

This scribe is aware New York Fashion Week is winding down.

Industry professionals fall into one of the two camps.

They're either moving onto London-Milan-Paris circuit nonstop for one full month or they're flying cross-country to Los Angeles for Emmy Week where people actually need to wear couture and get primped for Sunday the 22nd's Emmy Awards, awarding the best in television.

Here are the invites trickling down.
