LA Times IMAGE'S "iMPACT" Lecture, "insecure" Costume Designer, "This Doesn't Make for a Great Work-Life Balance."

 By Laura Medina

HBO's "Insecure" latest costume designer, Shiona Turini cannot help but emphasize the importance of dedication, historical and contemporary lifestyle research in how to style and dress the characters during their journeys.

Shiona can't help but stress the importance that dedication does not make for a great work-life balance.  That's her advice for all the aspiring stylists and costume designers.

Then, she further the audience in saying, not having a permanent home makes for being a great costume designer, travel and interviewing older people about segregation in shopping, makes for authentic costuming for period dramas and comedies.

L'Oreal's new second, West Coast home is making neighbors with L.A. Times headquarters next door, by feting them to a post-lecture cocktail after Shiona's Questions and Answers lecture.

L.A. Time's IMAGE Magazine is making itself known among NY Times' T Magazine and Wall Street Journal's WSJ Magazine.

Def Jam's, LeBron James', and Calmatic's Reboot of "House Party" for Today's LA.

 By Laura Medina

Today's Def Jam's and LeBron James' "House Party" being released this Friday the 13th, 2023 is a reboot of the original 1990's "House Party."

In a Questions and Answers panel last night's premiere, the director, former rapper turned music video turned film director, Calmatic says that this reboot reflects what is going on in today's Los Angeles, where everyone is an aspiring party promoter or publicist or singer-songwriter-hip hop/rapper-artists.

Today's "House Party" evolved from partying in a teen's house when the parents are away to taking over LeBron James' mansion (don't worry, LeBron is in on the joke, he's one of the movie's producers) then flipping it into an one-night pop-up nightclub, a quick way for the two protagonists to raise some cash, network with other celebrities and raise their party promoting and music careers, all in one night...when they assume LeBron is away.

Don't want to give anything away before it debuts on Friday the 13th, but the rebooted "House Party" pays tribute to the original "House Party."

Since this is an "House Party," the premiere threw a LA Soul Food buffet with pizza, chicken tenders, salsa with braised beef that can only be found in LA.

Since it's Def Jam, they, not only include rising artists as actors in the movie but also in the soundtrack. Might as well, do a post-movie premiere showcase concert for them, Felix James Brody, and August rocking their hearts out, out of gratitude.

The director, Calmatic, says there should be "House Party" sequels reflecting each, new, and different generations' tastes, goals, situations, idols, and aspirations for generation to come.

'RHOBH Star Sutton Stracke is a Football Fashionista with a Consciousness.

 By Laura Medina

Women are sport fans, too.  They, too, want their sport jerseys and game day gear to be stylish as well.

Bravo's "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" Sutton Stracke is using her boutique, Sutton Concept, https://thesuttonconcept.com/ as platform to celebrate game day, especially this past weekend's NCAA Championship between Georgia Bulldogs playing in the NCAA Championships against TCU Horned Frogs at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on Monday, Jan. 9th. Sutton, who is from Augusta, GA., practiced Southern Hospitality by welcoming all football lovers locally, and those coming into Los Angeles from Georgia and Texas, (all Saturday afternoon) for the NCAA Championship game and the weekend festivities leading up to the main event on this recent, past Monday, January 9th.

                                https://thesuttonconcept.com/product/pj-long-pajama-set/

Her pajama sets, in short-sleeve or long-sleeve, are comfortable enough to watch the game or sporting out in public, with a pair of jeans or stretch leather leggings or jeans.

Sutton Stracke also uses her namesake boutique to promote sustainable, consciousness-based wardrobe investments to cut down on waste and landfills.  It's quality that counts for her.

For a fashionista, she's not afraid to stand up to fast fashion as one of the biggest contributors to waste and landfills.  She much rather you buy and invest in one great t-shirt and sweater, than buy hundreds of cheap, quality pieces that will go into a landfill.

For her and her boutique, Sutton Concept, it's not about size but quality.  At her Sutton Concept boutique, she's working with J. Brand Denim founders into designing and selling top-notch denim, jeans, and leggings that will last thru passing fads.

Sutton Stracke is busting the stereotype of what it means to be a fashionista and a sports fanatic.  She's no passing fancy.

Post holiday blues? Just survived airline meltdowns? Snowstorm? Rainstorms?  Either way, you're hygge-ing, a Danish way of life, making peace with the coldness and darkness of real Winter, where they take advantage thru a slower pace and self-care and wellness by being cozy.

Since people are in no way to adventure outdoors in hail, wind, and snow, (even skiers have to come in sometime), why turn your humble bathroom into a spa with Molton Brown's Oudh & Gold Bath and Shower Gel?

The steamy soak releases essential oil notes of cinnamon, nutmeg, and honey, with specks of gold.

It's a warm hug in a tub.

A reward for surviving the holidays.

You gave to others during the holidays.  Now, it's time for self.
