Both for "Brokechella," Mother's Day, & Rest of Summer, "Home & Family's" Sophie Uliano's DIY Vitamin C Anti-Aging Serum

By Laura Medina

We all know our wallets and bags took a bruising during the two weekends of Coachella.  It was well-worth it.  Mother's Day is fast-approaching and Summer has yet to begun with more rounds of garden and pool parties and more festivals than you can shake a stick at.  We're in the mood of celebrating "Brokechella."

During this fallow in-between period, nothing more heart-felt and sensible than an home-made gift for both you and mom.  Mom  probably likes you better for taking the wholesome, sensible path.

Going way beyond the DIY greeting card you pasted together in kindergarten, Hallmark Channel's "Home & Family" beauty expert, Sophie Uliano has concocted a whole skincare serum recipe that both you and mom can afford to split and share over months.

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gSWg2piAoOs

The ingredients and supplies that Sophie uses can be bought at a very affordable price in large quantities that accessible at health food stores, drugstores, and online.  Think of this DIY Vitamin C Anti-Aging Serum as this cool crafting project that you will actually use many times over for a lot of stuff.

This serum can be added to creams and lotions as an extra boost if you have dry skin during the Winter or use alone as a refreshing serum when it's hot and sticky during the Summer.

You'll get a lot of "juice" from this recipe...

You will need:
2 tbsp of aloe vera gel (find in a health food store)
1/4 tsp vitamin C powder
1tsp distilled water

You can use a little plastic container, jar (anything that has an airtight lid). Simple mix the ingredients together. Keep it in a cool, dark spot and re-make it at least once a week – making sure you sterilize the container on the top shelf of your dishwasher before using it again.

You can apply your get after cleansing and toning morning and night. Follow with moisturizer. If your skin is really sensitive,  half the amount of Vitamin C that you add. You skin will tingle, especially if you do peels and/or use retinol products.

The colored and tinted bottles, that Sophie recommends that you use to save the light-sensitive serums and gels from destructive UV rays, are also pretty decorative on your vanity table and/or bathroom to mentally cheer you up.

Catch Sophie Uliano and her cast of specialists every Monday to Friday, from 11am to 1pm on "Home & Family" on the Hallmark Channel.

Now that we scrubbed off the superficial grout off our skin, "Post-Coachella Cleanse, Sakura Shower Oil," http://luxurist.blogspot.com/2015/04/post-coachella-cleanse-sakura-shower-oil.html, let's the real detoxing begin.

Kimberly Snyder, C.N., has Drew Barrymore, Ben Stiller, and Dita von Teese as clients and aspiring starlets and hunks refuel and recharge at her Glow Bio Smoothie and Juice Bar on 7473 Melrose Ave. Los Angeles, CA 90046 in the Fairfax District.

Since this year's Coachella and Stagecoach are about said and done and Summer Swimsuit is approaching fast, it's time to take Kimberly Snyder's and Burt's Bees'  #28DayFaceCleanse Challenge.

Burt’s bees is challenging women everywhere to try the NEW Burt’s Bees Renewal Collection for 28 days to see the results for themselves in the first ever, “Face Cleanse.” Every 28 Days, our skin regenerates, so it’s the perfect time to see the effects of new skincare and lifestyle practices!

Kimberly Snyder will be guiding the Cleanse, using the Burt’s Bees Renewal Collection, a collection formulated with powerful Apple and Hibiscus Rejuvenating Complex. The Renewal line is packed with botanicals to fight the signs of aging and reveal more youthful, healthy-looking skin! During the duration of the Cleanse, Kim will curate recipes, tips, and tricks for participants to help nourish their beauty from the inside out.  Kimberly is the author of the Beauty Detox series, a line of best-selling nutritional and lifestyle books that teaches readers how to reach optimal beauty and health through food, the latest of which is The Beauty Detox Power – a chronicle of stories of women that have transformed their lives and their beauty through holistic health practices.

Burt's Bees' Renewal Collection is perfect for the established Gen-Xer who's finally enjoying the perks and privilege of socializing and is hangover-ed from it, but the social whirl will never stop them nor their Baby Boomer partners.

Kimberly and Burt's Bees are here to help.

While following Kimberly's refreshingly raw recipes and fitness guidelines, Burt's Bees' Renewal Collection's Hibiscus and Apple Rejuvenating Complex soothes the encroaching wrinkles and fine lines, plumping up cells to help reduce the look of lines and wrinkles, improving firmness, and making skin appear smoother and more hydrated.

Doing this regiment takes about a month to see results, hence the "28 Days Challenge."  Just in time for Summer Swimsuit Season then the White Parties begin.

Before Kimberly, there was Eighties' supermodel and actress, Carol Alt.

For those who want to or already settling down, Carol's "A Healthy You," is for you.

If relaxing at home after a long, hard day at the office is your glass then Carol's more settled approach is for you.

Both Kimberly and Carol share raw recipes for their readers who want to be healthy and don't want to cook, especially when warm weather approaches.

However, Carol has D.I.Y. facial and beauty recipes for facial masks and home-made dry shampoo.

Whichever book you choose to use, you'll be internally clean either way.

Post-Coachella Cleanse, Sakura Shower Oil

By Laura Medina

https://us.rituals.com/en-us/sakura-spring-9987.html#start=1

Okay, it's time to shake the sand out.

It isn't as a sudsy as the artificial stuff but Rituals Sakura Cherry Blossom Shower Oil makes it up in a soothing cleanse that turns into a milky Japanese spa bath that cleans and calms the skin and your nerves, gentle but effective.

Enjoy the scintillating scent of organic Rice Milk and Eastern Cherry Blossom.

This shower oil helps to prolong your tan. The oil hydrates your skin in the shower so that you lose less pigment. You can thus enjoy your holiday tan for even longer.

For centuries, the Japanese have celebrated the annual flowering of the Cherry Blossom, or Sakura. This marks an awakening of nature and symbolizes that beauty is momentary and life must be enjoyed. Inspired by this tradition, Sakura collection blends the sweetness of Cherry Blossom with nourishing Organic Rice Milk, to make each day feel like a new beginning.

The essence of rice milk makes your skin soft, and supple and gives it a healthy glow.

Cherry Blossom relaxes you.

Kit and Ace, Better Athleisure for Easier Coachella/Music Festival Gear.

By Laura Medina

Ed Westwick at Kit And Ace's Coachella Garden Party.

April 18, 2015 - Kit and Ace celebrates the launch of its Spring/Summer 2015 collection with Ed Westwick and Rocky Barnes on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at the Parker Palm Springs.

Guest celebrated with specialty cocktails and hors d'oeuvres with music by the gorgeous, DJ Alex Merrell. A major activation during the event included an interactive goat pen to commemorate the origin of cashmere to educate fashionistas and stylistas.

Kit and Ace came about when husband and wife team, Shannon and JJ Wilson were busy traveling, working, and living in her father-in-law's Lululemon's activewear that they like the performance of activewear fabric but wish it was more stylish and the fabric was more luxurious.  They weren't the only ones who felt this way. Niche.

This is how Kit and Ace came about...and can't think of anywhere better to debut their new Spring Collection than Coachella where people need stylish, cool clothes that last beyond one weekend...in the desert.

Considering people love the well-worn softness of cotton but not wearing-out; and people love the softness of cashmere but not the thick woolness in the heat, they came up with a new type of cashmere, Technical Cashmere.

They developed Technical Cashmere™ because natural cashmere is delicate and easily damaged. It balls and pills and stretches out of shape at the elbows and knees. Technical Cashmere™ is machine washable–no more trips to the dry cleaners. And it has size integrity so it doesn’t shrink. You don't have to guess how it is going to look later.

They reworked the basics of tees, tanks, and shirts, not just tweaking the details but more importantly, the fabrics that people can live in.

Technical Cashmere™ keeps its shape. Enhanced with technical fibers, it's stretchable, always bouncing back to fit you perfectly and never bagging at the elbows or knees.

As for tailoring, they came up with Fluid Motion Styling.  It's easy to design things that look good for when you're standing still in front of the mirror. But the true test of a design is whether it still looks good when you're walking, twisting, reaching and living your life.

Fluid Motion Styling is part of everything we make at Kit and Ace. Our shirts and pants move the way you do, so they look even better when you're in motion.  No binding. No tugging at you. No limits to your range of motion.  Unrestrained freedom means you look elegant, you feel fabulous.

The finest Italian tailors know how to accentuate your positives and minimize your negatives so that people see only what you want them to notice. It's a fashion designer's sleight-of-hand. "Now you see it. Now you don't."  They went to Italy specifically to learn this magic from the masters.

Kit and Ace do Smooth Seams, not open seams.  Open seams are when taking off the shirt you are wearing. Turn it inside out. See those ridges attaching the sleeves? See those ridges extending down from the armpits, attaching the front to the back? Those are called open seams.  Open seams are the fast and easy way to make a shirt. They do not do fast and easy. We do smooth seams and they are an entirely different story.

Size integrity means no shrinking. You never have to guess how your clothes are going to look after they are washed. Size integrity means our shirts and pants keep their shape. They will never look stretched and worn, even after a long hard day. And neither will you.
No matter what you do, our stuff bounces back to fit you perfectly, never bagging or sagging or looking old.  Not even for an instant.

Vanishing Neck Tags, It's just a little thing at the back of your neck. Can you imagine a more irritating place to put a tag than at the back of your neck?

Neck tags exist only to let you know the size of the shirt and to give you care instructions, but they have more confidence in you. Their neck tags are designed for easy removal because they don't think you are suddenly going to forget your size. As for care instructions? Their Technical Cashmere™ t-shirts are machine washable–that is all you need to remember.

Canadian based luxury retailer Kit and Ace will be opening ten shops between now and October 15,2015 in addition to the seven they currently have in operation.  The new locations have all been confirmed and launch dates set for St. Louis, Minneapolis, Denver,
Cincinnati, San Francisco, Vancouver, Columbus, Toronto, San Jose, and Washington.

The company, founded by Shannon and JJ Wilson, designs and develops contemporary luxury apparel made from proprietary fabrics called Qemir™.  These upcoming shop
openings are in line with the rapid expansion of the company, which launched its first
location in Vancouver, Canada nine months ago, and has already opened several shops
throughout North America, including New York and San Francisco.

“We are excited to bring into these new markets a beautiful retail space in which customers
can access our clothing, but also come away with a deeper sense of our brand.  What we
offer is far more than apparel – it’s an evolved retail experience,” says JJ Wilson.

Each Kit and Ace shop incorporates considerate design, and hyper-‐local elements inspired
by each location.  The new locations will give locals a chance to experience innovative,
technical clothing in a rather atypical retail space.

“While we want locals to feel excited about the clothing that anchors our shops -‐ ultimately
we want them to walk away inspired by the time they spent with us,” Shannon Wilson
explains.

Kit and Ace is projecting to open fifty shops worldwide by the end of 2015.

Kiehl's Earth Day Party with Maggie Q.s' & Elizabeth Olsen's Limited Edition Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado.

By Laura Medina

Maggie Q., left. Mitch Hedlund, middle. Elizabeth Olsen, right.

If there's anyone who can throw down an Earth Party, it's Kiehl's because they have an heart.

Since the president of Kiehl's, Chris Salgardo can't be there, it makes up with a stellar cast of A-Listers:

 Actor Dylan McDermott, CBS’s “Stalker”
·         Actor George Newbern, ABC’s “Scandal”
·         Actor Elvis Nolasco, ABC’s "American Crime"
·         Actor Lamorne Morris, ABC’s “New Girl”
·         Runway Coach Miss J Alexander, The CW’s “America’s Next Top Model”
·         Actor Vanessa Marcil, ABC’s “General Hospital”
·         Actor Teddy Sears, SHO’s “Masters of Sex”
·         Actor Jay Ellis, BET’s “The Game”
·         Actor Robert Buckley, The CW’s “iZombie”
·                                                       Actor, Charlotte Ross, The CW’s “Arrow”

Why does Kiehl's gives such a big splash for Earth Day?  The environment is one of it's three charity pillars under it's charity program, Kiehl's Gives: HIV/AIDS research, environmental issues and children’s well-being.

For environmentalism, they rewarded Mitch Hedlund, founder and executive director of Recycle Across America, a check for $50,000 to teach people recycling etiquette and making it easier by printing trash can labels to where to dump your plastics, cans, glass, and paper.

Maggie Q.'s label on the left.  Elizabeth Olsen's label on the right.

Elizabeth Olsen and Maggie Q. introduce their limited edition Label Art for Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado, so people wouldn't feel left out.

This month of April is Earth Month.  Kiehl's asked Maggie Q. and Elizabeth Olsen to design limited-edition labels for one of their most popular item, Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado (which Today Show's Kathie & Hoda are just chatting about it right now) to raise more funds for the environment.

Kiehl's has a devoted celebrity fan base. Yes, celebrities can be fans too.

Dylan McDermott and Vanessa Marcil are Kiehl's fans.

Speaking of celebrity fan base, "Orange is the new Black's" multi-talented Taryn Manning DJed and got this party rocking.

Okay, this scribe has more down-to-earth reason for liking Kiehl's Avocado Eye Cream.  Double-duty underneath the desert sun.  It's creamy enough for both the eyes and the lips.

Lessons Learned from Coachella, Colorescience & Trina Turk.

By Laura Medina

https://www.colorescience.com/products/sunforgettable-mineral-sunscreen-brush-spf-30

After partying out in the desert sun during the two weekends during Coachella, you learn the importance of sun protection, sun relief/repair, and practical yet stylish festival wear.

Colorescience's genre-busting powdered sunscreen in a refillable tube with a brush is and should be the standard classic in any festival-goer's pouch but you need more than that.

https://www.colorescience.com/category/face-primer

Colorescience's sun protection products are way more refined and diverse than your average sunscreen lotion or cream.

For backup, slather on these serum-like protective primers, instead of foundation, all-over face then dust their classic powdered sunscreens to set them for double-protection.

What's really and literally cool, you can use their items anywhere on your body, as well as your face;..and they're portable.

https://www.colorescience.com/category/setting-mist

Ok, post-recovery which is now.

After you scrubbed off the dirt, the sweat, and the flash tattoos, your fried chromosomes are aching for some relief.

For an easy spritz, spray on Colorescience's Hydrating Setting Mist and Sunforgettable Setting Mist.

Hydrating Setting Mist's Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant that helps to guard against free radical damage, calms and soothes skin.  The Vanilla and Sandalwood soothe the skin also.

When you did some real damage, red, peeling skin, you need to spray Sunforgettable Setting Mist's D20 Heavy Water.  It has larger water molecule for increased hydration with Ylang Ylang and Chamomile to help  soothe the skin.

https://www.colorescience.com/products/illuminating-serum and https://www.colorescience.com/products/anti-aging-serum

If you want some evening "oomph," dab Colorescience's Illuminating Serum in Champagne Kiss for rosy cheeks or Bronze Kiss for contouring or as a bronzer.

The extra "oomph" comes from...

Multi-Mineral Complex (Zinc, Magnesium, Copper) - Free radical scavengers, boost effect of other performance ingredients.

2 Peptides - Amino acid compounds that enhance skin via various methods of action *see peptide glossary
Palmitoyl Tripeptide 5 - Helps to boost collagen to reduce appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Dipeptide Diaminobutyroyl Benzylamide Diacetate - Smoothes skin and helps to reduce appearance of expression lines by relaxing facial muscles.

Hyaluronic Acid - Powerful hydrator, gives a plump look to skin.

Pearl Powder - Rich in amino acids & minerals to help skin appear radiant & smooth, imparts a healthy glow while minimizing the appearance of uneven skin tone.

https://www.colorescience.com/products/sunforgettable-lip-shine-spf-35

Of course, we need lip smackers to moisturize our lips.

Colorescience's Sunforgettable Lip Shine SPF 35 save our lips from the sun and dehydration; and they come in universal rosy, natural shades.

 http://www.trinaturk.com/

Don't pack.  Shop.  Done as it is easy.

Since you paid close to $500 for the weekend General Admission pass then drop a couple hundreds on hotel room and meals, you might as well up the ante on your festival gear.

If you're in, you're in which means you're circuiting the afternoon pool party circuit from resort hotel to private party estate.

This means some sophisticated resort/party gear.

Lilly Pulitzer for Target might had crash the internet but Trina Turk pushes Lilly Pulitzer's punchy resort wear further.

Lilly Pulitzer's East Coast Preppy Resortwear still made out of water and sweat-soaking, constrictive suiting, woven fabric that doesn't move with the body.

Trina one-upped better.  She took sporty swimsuit fabric then reinvented it into splashy contemporary resortwear that takes you from pool to party.  Her prints are just as peppy as Lilly's but the construction and fabrications are more functional for festivals and pool/beach parties.  As they say in the East Coast, from beach to broadwalk.

So forget wasting your precious cash on one-off fads from mass fast-fashion chains and save your time and energy by shopping all your wardrobe needs at Trina Turk, Palm Springs' hometown girl.

Coachella is Palm Springs' local pride and joy.  Trina has a loyal festival-goer from the get-go.  Her collections  knows what is needed on the festival grounds and surrounding resorts.  Leave it to her staffs to dress you up so you don't have to.

You wouldn't regret it because whatever they select for you, will last beyond Coachella and travels well from the West Coast to East Coast's Summer Society parties, like Spoleto USA in preppy but beachy Charleston, South Carolina.

Her resortwear is so chic that the staff said you switch out the sandals for basic black pumps for a proper night out.

Trina Turk and Colorescience got you covered.  All you have to do is stash them in your carry-on.

Starting living the Jet-Setter Life in Mad Men.

Tarte's Maracuja Bronzing Serum. Refresh. All-Natural. Not a Powder.

By Laura Medina

http://www.sephora.com/maracuja-bronzing-serum-P385758?skuId=1604909
http://tartecosmetics.com/tarte-item-maracuja-bronzing-serum

Coachella sets the tone for Summer.  Not just in clothing but for skincare and makeup.

Tarte's Maracuja Bronzing Serum isn't a powder or a cream that clogs the pores nor is it a gel that melts away.

It naturally blends into the skin wherever you apply it.  It warmly deepens the eyelids without that awkward fake shimmer or glitter. You gently contour the cheeks or warm up the cheeks without that obvious powder streak.

Unlike most cosmetic bronzers, this isn't an all-over body self-tanners like the ones you encounter on the mass market.  It's singular in that it's a makeup face bronzer in a body of a skincare serum, making it light and refreshing out in the heat, whether it's sweaty-humid or dry desert heat.

This multitasking elixir is powered by maracuja and plant extracts to hydrate, brighten, and even skintone as it helps fight signs of aging for a firmer, brighter, smoother appearance. The infused self-tanning complex delivers instant radiance as it imparts a gradual, natural-looking bronze for a healthy, glowing complexion over time. The fragrant, silky texture is infused with herbal notes—bergamot, gardenia, lily of the valley, and jasmine—for a spa-like pampering with every application.

Maracuja: rich in essential fatty acids (EFAs) and vitamin C known to replenish and rebuild for firmer, brighter, smoother skin and maximum hydrationAllantoin: helps heal and soothe skinLarch extract: nourishes and helps prevent moisture lossSelf-tanning complex: allows for a natural-looking bronze color with anti-inflammatory effects

It's an innovative, un-sung makeup item that is one of a kind.

Coachella for All, Ron Robinson's ALL FASHON ARTS FESTIVAL, April 14 to 16th at Both Melrose & Santa Monica.

Mind you, not everyone can go to nor afford to celebrate at Coachella.

Still, people at Ron Robinson are nice to bring a little bit of Coachella for the home-bound and broke.

Starting tomorrow, running through Thursday, for 3 days straight, Ron Robinson at both the Melrose and Santa Monica locations will throw their version of Coachella, "All Fashion Arts Festival."

With 3 days of fashion, beauty, fun, and music without the headaches of wristbands, badges, and guest lists, Ron Robinson's ALL FASHION ARTS FESTIVAL is a bounty there for the taking!

It's a win-win.  For those lucky and tough enough for Coachella Round-Two, you can stock up while party-ing.  For those too tired, too busy, or broke, here's your chance to join the fun.

Nobody misses out.  It's for everyone!

Pandora's Pool Party with QuestLove during Coachella.

                                                                    By Laura Medina

Remember Coachella is all about the music, the artists, the DJs, the performers, their talent agents and managers, and publicists, who flew from all corners of the world to perform, in the middle of night in a remote desert without noise limits.

To make it easier on them, a plethora of pool parties pop up, blooming like Spring desert flowers, to give them tender, loving care.

Pandora was no exception.

At Cree Estates, one of Palm Desert's earliest resort, Pandora threw a pool party with DJ QuestLove DJing.

Okay, it's Spring Break for the music industry and they do it better and chicer than any frat boy on a normal Spring Break.

Bartenders slushed snow cones for the grateful guests sunning and splashing underneath the desert sun.

At the Pandora Party, hair stylists braided to ventilate guests' neck nape and backs.  People got exercising doing real-life Wizard Chess then jumped into the pool.

This is one of hundred reasons that makes Coachella exceptional and above all the other festivals.  With 4-star shuttle vans and buses, pampering hotel packages, and industry parties, Coachella isn't your average concert.

How to Party & Relax Like an Adult at Coachella.

By Laura Medina

http://www.valleymusictravel.com/events/coachella2015/hotel-travel-packages-weekend-two/#agua-caliente-casino-resort-spa

With the General Admission price for one weekend of Coachella going for close to $500 and with Gen-Xer-sque favorites Madonna, Alabama Shakes, and Fritz & the Tantrums, alongside Baby Boomer classics, AC/DC and Steely Dan...all night for three night, one definitely get her and his Rock n' Roll Wet Dream on.  Still at that admission price alone...with those line-ups...and gourmet food trucks and catered celebrity-chef dinner banquet, "Outstanding in the Field," Coachella is definitely for the Bourgeois Bohemian Establishment, the same folks now ruling and running the Grammys.

The authentic tweeny-bopper/teenaged kids oughta be thankful their parents paid for the tickets and patiently wait by the side to chauffeur them in and out of the festival, happily missing out on the action.  Those adult parents patiently putting themselves out to pastures so their kids can rock out like faux-adults.

For real adults,...since you're gonna rock it like an adult because the price alone is adult, you might as well surviving the festival as an adult.

http://www.valleymusictravel.com/events/coachella2015/hotel-travel-packages-weekend-two/#agua-caliente-casino-resort-spa

After plunking down the estimated $500 weekend general admission ticket, one must learn how to survive.  Especially, if you're one of the thousand international attendees playing and musicians and DJ working the festival, where we're gonna stay? How do we get there?  How do I live while at the festival?

If you're really smart about it, go to Valley Music Travel on Coachella's http://www.valleymusictravel.com/events/coachella2015/hotel-travel-packages-weekend-two/#agua-caliente-casino-resort-spa  page.

Coachella (after sixteen years running the festival and encountering every travel problems there is) is thoughtful and considerate enough to offer hotel and transportation/shuttle bus and van packages with certain hotels in retro-hip Palm Springs (adding more coins to their coffer) where the locals do all the work for you so you wouldn't be stressed out, just relax and enjoy the musicians all night long then hopefully return.

http://www.theparkerpalmsprings.com/deals/index.php

Since we're in the business of busting myths and cliches, Coachella has long, long, long ago matured out of it's dirty hippy image, camping on the field grounds and the snaking, choking traffic (this is why they have and insist on attendees taking luxury, air-conditioned coach shuttle buses going  to and from the festival for mere organization).  For the cheap skates who still insist, for a price, you can still be the dirty hippie camping on the festival grounds, to drastically reduce cost.  But after roughing it for three days and nights, your body is screaming for some serious pampering to re-balance.

For those who rough it during Coachella, The Parker Hotel in Palm Springs has some square and fair one-day deals for those who sacrifice, by Coachella camping.

For the severely dehydrated and sun-burnt, The Parker Hotel's "Are You a Spa Junkie?" Deal can scrub off the gritty granola off your grimy skin.

What you pay for an one night stay pays for your spa treatments in equal amounts, a fair deal right?!

Sunday through Thursday nights for rates starting at $249 you will receive $250 in credit towards spa treatments in the cool Palm Springs Yacht Club, as well one of our divine Estate Rooms.  This equates to paying you $1 for a room.

In other words, they'll exfoliate and pamper your environmental-damaged skin back to normal, refreshed enough to face civilization.

If you practically starved yourself for Coachella, whether keeping it in budget or starving to fit into those skimpy bikinis, you can feed yourself back into sanity at The Parker Hotel.

The hotel's "Glutton's Delight" rebalances your metabolism and your mentality by again, for the same amount you pay for an one-night stay, it'll be match in equal amount of meals to nourish you back to normality.

Remember the olde-fashion advice, the way to a man's (now, a woman's) heart is through the stomach.  Show you care by booking "Glutton's Delight" one-night deal and feed that special person happy.  One cannot live on anorexia nervosa alone.  Your sun-damaged skin needs omega-3 oils and fluid to plump up and hydrate; and a starving boyfriend is an angry boyfriend.  Show him you care by thanking him with The Parker's "Glutton's Delight" for him making all those Coachella sacrifices.

https://www.trinaturk.com/s/trinaturk/stores

Now that you fixed the basics of food, water, shelter, and transportation, let's start dressing like an adult for Coachella.

For the ruling establishment of Gen-Xers and a few remaining Baby Boomers, especially Baby Boomers who wore the skimpy, "Dirty Hippy" the first time around, way back at Woodstock, how to dress appropriately in the heat, sweat, and dust storms without being trapped in a time capsule?

Sure, doing yogilates help but you're cultured and experienced...ok, your parts grew and settled into places that can't rock a lacy, transparent caftan laying over a skimpy bikini.  Just the act of rocking a pair of Daisy Dukes, over the age of thirty, is an achievement unto itself.

You can rock stylishly and be fashion-forward without dressing like a stale time capsule.  Save the fringe suede and beads for the first-time young'uns.  Besides, any experienced jet-setter knows a good travel/vacation/festival wardrobe should cross cliques and coasts.

Easy, in Palm Springs, stock up on native Palm Springer and Coachella supporter, Trina Turk.

She's the West Coast answer to Lilly Pulitzer.  For sheer convenience,  The Parker Hotel has her pop-up in the lobby until July the 4th.  This pop-up shop is special because it carries only her limited-edition 20th Anniversary Collection.

Once done with Coachella, you can still style Trina Turk at Charleston's Spoleto USA arriving in late May/early June, which is not too far off.
