What is last-minute and lasts longer and stays fresher than a bouquet of flowers?
This scribe has spritzed and sniffed this pair of perfumes with a cotton fragrance top note floating on a warm vanilla base note that grounds it.
This is the common fragrance composition of Eau de Lacoste and Boss Jour Pour Femme.
If the previous Lacoste fragrances spank of bright confidence and spunky go-get, this latest Eau de Lacoste denotes a more established but still sensual woman who's at ease of herself, where she is at, and where she is going.
“Crisp modernity and pared-back elegance underscored by sensuality is
the LACOSTE woman’s fashion mantra and this applies equally to her
choice of fragrance,” says Felipe Oliveira Baptista, Creative
Director for LACOSTE. His first women's wear collection for S/S 12
demonstrated Oliveira Baptista’s innate understanding of the ease and
elegance of the label’s heritage. The collection of classics, with an
urban, modern edge, included the classic piqué, an icon of the LACOSTE
design code, revisited as a fluid A-line mini and floor-skimming evening
gown as well as body-con cropped, cutout and color blocked dresses. “For me, LACOSTE is about simplicity and effortlessness,” comments Oliveira Baptista. “When a woman feels at ease in her own body, her clothes and her fragrance should naturally echo that sensuality and confidence.”
The cotton-y top notes are a nifty blend of White Pineapple, with Mandarin and Bergamot from the unspoilt Italian region of Calabria, and white floral of Orange Flower, Jasmine Sambac are woven with the
almost textural quality of Pineapple Flower to create a delicately
clean, natural femininity.
Channeling a mood of soft sensuality, creamy balsam tones add a resonant base of Sandalwood and Vanilla enveloped with Vetyver and Peru Balsam as the creamy vanilla base notes for a creamy and voluptuous sensuality.
Says Antoine Delgrange: “There is something truly sophisticated about a fragrance with a simple and unpretentious formula.”
If last year's Boss Nuit Pour Femme firmly speaks of an established woman boss, boldly, then BOSS JOUR Pour Femme is when she's finally relaxed and enjoying the fruits of her labor which puts her in a softer, more easy-going mode.
Lightness and freshness are presented with a combination of accented
accords of lime and grapefruit blossom representing the liveliness of
the first morning rays of light that radiate with positive anticipation.
Inspiration is retold with a rich bouquet of white flowers, including
flowers of freesia, lily of the valley and honeysuckle celebrating the
femininity and beautiful diversity of life of every woman.
Boss Jour Pour Femme is also floats on a creamy vanilla base of white birch and creamy amber.
“We celebrated great success with BOSS
Nuit Pour Femme, and to further grow and establish our female fragrance
offering we’re excited to be launching BOSS JOUR Pour Femme in 2013.
Using our expertise in the fragrance industry, we are fully committed to
strengthening our position within the female category and feel we have
the perfect partner in Gwyneth Paltrow. As the face of both BOSS JOUR
and BOSS NUIT, she demonstrates everything we believe in – strength,
sophistication, success and beauty.”
Guillaume Tardy, Global Director Procter & Gamble Prestige
“Working to create BOSS JOUR Pour Femme
was an exciting process - I loved having the opportunity to create
something that truly reflected the BOSS woman in our new campaign. We
put a lot of emphasis on a really intelligent and sophisticated
ingredient selection to make sure they each represented a different part
of the BOSS woman. With a combination of delicate white flowers and
vibrant citrus we were able to create something feminine, elegant, and
sophisticated. The aim was to not only make women feel beautiful,
composed and inspired, but give them a fragrance that combined this with
a soft burst of freshness that mirrored that feeling of anticipation
and excitement at the first light of day.” Will Andrews, Fragrance Creation Team Procter & Gamble Prestige
