Sosie Bacon, Miss Golden Globe 2014

By Laura Medina

Sosie Bacon officially making her debut as Miss Golden Globe 2014

The closest thing Hollywood has to a debutante party is also one of the biggest coming-out-party, Miss Golden Globe when a child of a famous acting parent or parents has been selected as an official awards presenter during the Golden Globe Awards show tonight.

Don't worry, sons of famous acting parent(s) can be rewarded as "Mr. Golden Globe.

This year's Miss Golden Globe 2014 is Kevin Bacon's and Kyra Sedgewick's daughter, Sosie Bacon.

A new addition to the Miss/Mr. Golden Globe is the official Miss Golden Globe Luncheon at the traditional Beverly Hilton Hotel where she or he is officially presented to the press and media at the recent, past Thursday.

This is where Miss Golden Globe gets her feet wet introducing herself to the press and getting to know them in a casual and friendly yet oh-so glamorous luncheon.

Sosie Bacon table-hopping, making the rounds.

Before the luncheon commences, Miss Golden Globe casually chats and answers questions during the first third's champagne-cocktail reception while nibbling on made-from-scratch potato chips, spiced nuts, and chocolate-coated dried fruit.

Once everyone sits down to lunch, the fortunate few who are lucky to be sitted at the same table with Miss Golden Globe, continue to chat and discuss with her.

The "Q & A" continues when Miss Golden Globe makes the rounds from table to table to personally greet the press and answer more questions.

Throughout the luncheon, Sosie always had a down-to-earth approach towards the Golden Globes.  Even though her parents brought her to the Golden Globe Awards when she was fifteen-years old, she never thought she'll win the title.

She reminded the guests, that at the end of the day, she is still a working actress who still makes the rounds of auditions like any other actress.

The trend threading through-out Golden Globe Awards Week is the opulent and healthy fare.  You all will be glad to know the ingredients are affordable as they are fresh and the instructions are simple.

The first course is a shaved beets, carrots, and onions salad with frisee leaves tossed in pomegranate and basil vinaigrette.

Plastic surgeons' favorite protein for fresh, plump skin, salmon is the entree.

The prep is simple and low on sugar and fat.  The Skuna Bay Salmon is pan-seared and roasted, simple and traditional as that.

But, the real kicker was the carrot juice & orange juice reduction sauce dotted with Kendall Farms Creme Fraiche, a fancy French version of sour cream.

According to Chef de Cuisine Zack Gochin, all you have to do is boil down carrot juice and orange juice together until it's a thick glaze of a sauce, flavorful and light.

The dessert finale finished the flavorful and light trend with Mascarpone Cylinder glazed with Apricot Gelee, on top of Apricot Sorbet resting on a bed of sponge cake, garnish with chocolate spiral and raspberry and mango coulis.

The guests were further treated to chocolate truffles, peanut butter & jelly bonbons, and lemon French macaroons...to take home.

Don't get bummed out because you're too tired to cook and too weary to shop, post-holidaze.

You can simply stock your Golden Globe Awards party or chilling with flavored gourmet potato chips, chocolate-dipped dried fruit, and spiced nuts, simple, healthy fare to nibble on tonight.
