Right in the heart of the Big Apple. Right at the get-go of Back-to-School starting gate, whether you're going to junior high, high school, or starting in college, those in Manhattan were in luck.
In their eyes, Hollywood heart throb and "Dancing with the Stars," Derek Hough hosted “Sears Shop Your Way and searsStyle Jean Scene”event in Central Park.
It was a fair where guests and pleasantly surprised park walkers were treated to a free pair of jeans. They were further treated to Wafels & Dinges' Famous Throwdown mini-wafels and ice cream on a hot, sunny August New York day.
They ogled shelves of 1,000 styles of denim available at Sears' cases of jeans. Wait, there's more. Folks were even more thrilled when they entered for prize wheel giveaways including giftcards, tote bags, sunglasses and more, while rocking to tunes from Z-100.
They jumped in photo booths with props galore for goofy fun.
The crowd were treated to even more entertainment, courtesy of Derek Hough. On a riff off the Gap's iconic '90's jitterbug Khaki tv ad from twenty years ago, Derek Hough led a team of 50 flash mobbers, clad in “JeanScene” t-shirts, through a dance routine to David Dundas' “Jeans On” then did a “Jump Jive an’ Wail” with DWTS troupe member, Emma Slater.
It was a touch of Hollywood Glam Slam in the heart of the Big Apple and those Manhattanites appreciate it.
