In a pseudo send-up of a documentary, "Nowhere Inn" mockumentary, Carrie Brownstein as auteur-film director honestly told Annie Clark, aka St. Vincent, she's nerdy and normal and that's what she likes about Annie Clark in real life, St. Vincent the rocker was shocked that she's that dull in real life.
As documentary auteur, Carrie constructively suggests that Annie Clark should "amp it up" to match and live up to her on-stage persona, St. Vincent.
To take control of her narrative and it's her movie on her life, Annie took it to places that Carrie didn't want to go.
When Carrie thinks Annie is normal and nerdy in real life, Annie taught her a lesson when Annie and "Fifty Shades" Dakota Johnson played a "Fifty Shades" joke on Carrie calling her boring and nerdy while playing tribute and mocking Madonna's "Erotica" movie from 1992.
That's the joke on mockumentary, "Nowhere Inn."
Annie Clark also did a send-up of what and how people react when she tells them, she's from Dallas, Texas and what people perceive of her upbringing and background.
While pissing off Carrie, as Carrie loses control of her documentary, as Annie takes control of her off-stage and on-stage identity and narrative and her documentary about her life, on and off-stage.
It's a send-up on what people think of their idol versus the reality of the real person.
"Nowhere Inn" is the 21st Century, female take on "This is Spinal Tap."
"Nowhere Inn" will hit theaters on September 17th then a week later, Annie Clark as St. Vincent, will head the Hollywood Bowl on September 24th.
Annie Clark as St. Vincent is trending.
