Juicy Couture Shines for the Holidays then into the New Year

By Laura Medina

Boy, this is a smorgasbord of a Juicy Couture Holiday that gives right now and all the way to Spring 2013.

If you hit Juicy Couture's "California Dreaming" film, directed by Terry Richardson and starring Candice Swanpoel and shot at the legendary Chateau Marmont, it's an interactive shopping video where you pause and stop over a scene of the outfit that you like.  That still shot will tell what the style name is for that outfit or item. When you click on that shot, it will directly take you to the shopping site on Juicy Couture's website then you can order that outfit you so desire watching in that shopping video.  Ingenious!

If you're suffering from cabin fever and really dying to get the heck out of the house, get a thrill from the crowd and see some cute outfits and gifts live in person, here is a list of hot holiday trends and cute little gifts for yourself and that best friend forever.

For the craftsmanship and the cuteness factor, you cannot beat the $78 Little Critter Charm Necklaces.  A portion of the sales from this collection will go to the World Wildlife Funds.  You pick your favorite critter.  You'll save her or him in the wild. So cute.

Now on to what is really important...what are you going to wear at those holiday parties.
Foil and brocade are in for Juicy Couture's Holiday 2012 Collection.

Foil is in for the tuxedo blazers and fur-trimmed and lined vests and puffer jackets, something to hit the slopes at Sundance next month.  Shine isn't just for the holidays.  It's really as reflective material when you're skiing.

The foiled and brocade jeans is easy, last minute hip chic, pile them on with the now-standard black fur vest or Juicy Couture's fur trench coat and black riding boots, then you're set for the holidays.

Need a really cool gift that will last into Spring and Summer?

Juicy Couture's LeAnn Nealz hooked up with Parisian art and design duo, Michael Amzalag and Mathias Augustyniak of M/M (Paris) on a whole slew of limited items celebrating "California Dreamin'": a silk scarf and the shopping bags, the tissue paper, and stickers for this holiday season only.

Because fake fur is easy to make (basically, it is very long knits that have been sheared and looped off) and animal-friendly, fur is the new traditional winter texture.  It has yet to ease off.  Actually, it's hotter than ever, being used as a mixed-media material...fur with waterproof trench, for that luxurious touch.

Another special occasion textile that has now become common-place...sequin or it's bigger cousin, big, round disks of palettes.  This JC shift dress can be doubled as a tunic for the more modest but trendy but this trend into good use.

Rhinestone glitz has also become more acceptable thanks to Swarovski's fashion endeavor of the "Bling-Bling" movement but things has been more refined lately.  Instead of adding on a necklace, the necklace has already been sewn into the neckline on this JC's sweater.  A simple touch is all one needs.  Classic enough to pass down as a heirloom.

What the majority of people don't do is to give Juicy Couture credit for innovative tailoring, as in using the Princess Line in tracksuits to give it more snap then replacing the fleece with velour for luxury and softness.  Ruching in the back instead of zippers; and making a very old-fashion tuxedo jacket with tails into two jackets.  The tails on this tuxedo blazer zips on and off.  Zip off, it's a crop dinner blazer.  Zip on, it transforms into a more tuxedo jacket.  What an investment!

Simple chic is easy and a wiser wardrobe investment down the line, can't go wrong simple satin in a halter dress/tunic with a keyhole neck.

More low-key but very comforting, a zebra-striped shrug sweater.  Someting to pack when you're lounging at the fireplace during Sundance.

Actually, this red hot red leather coat is from Juicy Couture's Spring 2013 Collection.  Now, here is a list of sneak peeks, continuing the "California Dreaming" theme and paying homage to the company's heritage.

The rough and tough motorcycle vest softened into white.

There is a riff on "Spring Pink" Chanel on the crop box jacket and the shorts.  Hopefully, Juicy's take will be at a more attainable price but retaining the focus on quality construction.

The tailored prep school blazer is still riding strong into Spring with the prep school stripes and the piping and the trims.  If there is a time to build your Spring wardrobe, do it now and jump on the arriving trend.

Juicy Couture may had gone "Eastern" with the focus on Preppy-ism and gone Northern Californian on more more fixings and trims but it still remembers where it came from...sunny, fun-loving Southern California with the palm tree prints...think of them as the "new" palm tree graphic and a respect to California's Asian heritage in this bomber jacket, originating from United States military bases.

Ok, if you manage to find this special limited edition collection cheering the London Olympics, you might find them on sale.  Again, this scribe is going for the black blazer with white pipings and arm band.

Expect more Juicy come Spring 2013, ;)
