St. Germain Cocktail Recipe for Fashionistas Shaking It on Fashion's Night Out

By Laura Medina

If you're one of the selected few in charge of throwing a Fashion's Night Out party; or you have to throw a Fashion's Night Out party in your living room because there is none in your hometown, St. Germain gives you a cocktail recipe to live it up like a fashionista, the Paris Manhattan.

When you are hustling getting valet parking, entertainment, and caterers, ask your assistant or run to your liquor boutique, grab a bottle of St. Germain, the light, refreshing Elderflower liqueur and the basic bourbon or whiskey and some quick bitters then just follow the recipe above.  Simple, tonight will be your oyster.

If you're really clever or already have a well-stocked bar, all you have to do is just buy St. Germain then mix up your own cocktail.

You'll never know...you might end up going to Paris, send in your St. Germain cocktail recipe and a photo of the cocktail to www.marthastewart.com/cancanclassic.

From there, the folks at Martha Stewart Living will spend this whole month sipping and selecting the best tasting cocktail using this liqueur of flavor-notes of tropical fruits, grapefruit, pear, and a hint of honeysuckle. This contest, the CanCan Classic, has been picking the best St. Germain cocktail 5 years running.

On December the 1st, they will pick the winning St. Germain cocktail recipe then from there...

The Grand Prize winner will get a trip for two to Paris, France, including round-trip airfare from New York City; four nights’ accommodation; a dinner for two at a Paris restaurant; and a delicious artisanal cheese tasting for two. They will also have the option of choosing a $10,000 cash prize in place of the French getaway. But the prizes don’t stop there. St-Germain is upping the stakes by awarding contestants placing in the next 100 runner-up spots a custom-designed St-Germain bicycle. The retro-inspired two wheelers are a nod to the specially-rigged, country bikes used by farmers during the elderflower harvest in the French Alps – a key to transporting the delicate blossoms used in St-Germain’s world-class liqueur.

Imagine that!  Not only will you be a fabulous fashionista quenching thirsty stylistas and stylistos, you might give yourself a way better Christmas/Holiday gift for yourself, rewarding your "on your heels" inventiveness.  The clever stylista and stylisto that you are.

Now, get shaking, if you're not already.

Remember, Fashion's Night Out is tonight and the invites are still flying.  There is everything for everyone, fashion democratized.
