OK! Magazine Out Did Themselves During Oscar Week.

By Laura Medina

This scribe has attended a many of OK! Magazine pilot screenings and events.  Shoot, this scribe is just content by covering...of course, and party-ing at OK! Magazine's Pre-Grammy parties spotlighting the hottest Grammy nominee and the sizzling musicians on the horizon.

Boy, was this scribe was glad to be proven wrong.

The Thursday during Oscar Week was when OK! Magazine pulled out all the stops to celebrate the Oscars, supporting Global Gift Foundation.

Having Brody Jenner headlining as DJ was pretty obvious, since he DJed OK! Magazine's parties before but he's a bona fide celebrity, as is Tia Carrere from "Wayne's World."

The real entertainment was a two-parter.

Alexander Jean, an acoustic guitar duo with Mark Ballas and Sonacay.

After an hour long performance, from 10pm to 11pm, all guests assumed that was it in live entertainment.

Again, we're were pleasantly proven wrong again.

The real headliner was a Nuyorican (New York Puerto Rican) Salsa band with samba dancers and a flamenco dancer, directly from the Big Apple.

This salsa band was so hot that celebrities jump up and shook their booties well into midnight, none of this to home to bed by 10pm nonsense.

Come on, it's the Oscars.

OK! Magazine went all out.  They brought out their best sponsor, Le Vian Jewelry that outfitted some of the celebrities at the party.

Most of the time, OK! Magazine mostly rely on their constant advertiser, SlimFast for snacks which didn't disappoint.   SlimFast was there, too.

However, this is Oscar Week and OK! Magazine pulled out all the stops and rented Eva Longoria's gourmet Spanish restaurant, Beso Hollywood to host and cater the fete.

Guests were so relieved that dinner was a yummy endless round of mini steak and chicken soft tacos, shrimp pizza, mac n cheese, and empanadas.

There platters of guacamole dip and tortilla chips to dip, station at every bar while hordes of celebrities were waiting for their cocktails.

It didn't end there.  Waiters passed out trays after trays of mini decadent dark chocolate bundt cakes, churros with dulce leche caramel sauce, and palm-sized coconut cake that this scribe wished took home.

Of course, SlimFast is always there for an OK! Magazine party.

To wash it all down and help digesting the yummy bites, people were swigging Obi Probiotic Soda, an all-natural, diabetic-friendly soda with that extra bite of probiotics and sparkling water to detox the system while party-ing.

Since this scribe is well-acquainted with OK! Magazine's events and screenings, this is the best party of the year.

Sure, the public hears about the more upscale Vanity Fair and Elton John's Oscar Viewing parties but OK! Magazine pulled out all the stops for their Pre-Oscar party honoring Young Hollywood, coming up on the horizon...with Le Vian Diamonds, diamonds for everyone.

OK! Magazine's Pre-Oscar party at Beso Restaurant really blew it out of the water.

This scribe is crossing fingers, hoping and wishing to return for next year's Oscar party.
