Kevin Lyman, "Not Everyone Likes Vans Warped Tour. Good, We're Moving Onto Something Else, FEND."

By Laura Medina

It may be the end of the line for Vans' final Warped Tour but the tour's producer, Kevin Lyman has moved onto something greater and more urgent.

At the good-bye press conference, Lyman has heard and acknowledged, "Not everyone liked Vans Warped Tour.  It was not for everyone.  Some has said they're glad it's over. I'm glad that it was not for everyone.  We have had move onto something more important."

For him, he's pouring his energy into F.E.N.D., Full Energy, No Drugs (FEND) to tackle the growing opium addiction.

Before the luxurious and hip Coachella and a multitude of music festival popping up, Vans Warped Tour brought then-newbie musical acts, such as Ice-T, Weezer, and Katy Perry, to the then adolescent and college-aged Gen-X and Millennials, who had since moved onto more upscale and sophisticated fares and fairs.

To jump-start their last and final tour, Vans threw a BBQ bash of the classic burgers and hot dogs all you can eat to say good-bye to an era.

This may be the end of the road for Vans Warped Tour but Kevin Lyman has embarked a new journey.

Paco Rabanne's Invictus Aqua with Nick Youngquest

By Laura Medina

The Paco Rabanne's industry-only launch party for it's new watery fragrance, Invictus Aqua, sure makes up for any Oscar party you missed from the previous week.

The Bloomingdale's and the Macy's fragrance employees that make up the bulk of the fragrance industry had a blast, having their photos taken with the agreeable chill spoke model, Australian former rugby play/model, Nick Youngquest, https://www.instagram.com/nickyoungquest/?hl=en
Paco Rabanne's new sea god.

Held in the former Sadie's Restaurant, Paco Rabanne took over the inner courtyard then transformed it into a Temple of Invictus Aqua...

Invictus Aqua Fragrance is a new take on the classic Summer fragrance, clean water spiked with woodsy notes and spiced with citrus.  An easy spritz on an hot Summer day and a sultry night.

It's a continuation of a long line of aquatic fragrances, that used to be exclusively male cologne but it's making a splash among unisex, sugar-free women who want a clean fragrance that's clean and refreshing without the sugary sugar & spice come-on sexuality of most feminine perfumes.

  • It has the marine notes consist of yuzu grapefruit pink pepper on the top notes.  The body scents of sea water, the Marine note and violet leaf.  Ambergris, amberwood, and Guaiac Wood grounds Invictus Aqua.
    •

After the pasta and taco dinner (Nick Youngquest is content with sipping a bottle of beer),...

One of the fragrance's ingredients is part of the dessert bar, grapefruit.

Specifically, the fragrance note is represented by the grapefruit bar, instead of the usual lemon bar...

If you can find an excuse for a party, do a fragrance party, use the fragrance notes as basis for your appetizers and dessert and your cocktail.  Now, you got the party started.  Great during sweaty Summer...

Ingredients
  • 5 ounces (1 cup) + 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour, divided
  • 1/8 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 cup confectioners’ sugar, plus more for topping
  • 4 ounces unsalted butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons grated grapefruit zest
  • 1/4 cup fresh squeezed grapefruit juice
1/2 teaspoon fresh squeezed lemon juice
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together 5 ounces flour, salt, and confectioners’ sugar.
  2. Using a pastry blender, cut the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs. Press the mixture into an un-greased 8x8 inch pan. Bake for 15 to 18 minutes, or just until golden.
  3. While the crust is baking, prepare the filling. In a large bowl, use an electric mixer on medium speed to beat the eggs, sugar, grapefruit juice, lemon juice, and remaining flour for about 2 minutes or until smooth, scraping down the bowl periodically with a spatula. Stir in grapefruit peel.
  4. Pour the filling over the hot crust, then bake for an additional 20 minutes, or until light brown around the edges and the center is set.
  5. Transfer to a wire rack to cool. Cover and refrigerate for 1 to 2 hours. Dust lightly with powdered sugar, then cut into 9 bars.

Bravo's "Stripped" star, Ali Levine, Throws a Pink Carpet Baby Shower.

By Laura Medina

Bravo's latest breakout star from it's social experiment of a reality show, "Stripped," Ali Levine is basking in baby glory, with her daughter due in a month.

Proud father and "Stripped" co-star, Justin Jacaruso looked on proudly as wife, mo-to-be, and RHOC's Gretchen Rossi and RHOCBH's Lisa Vanderpump's stylist, Ali Levine rules over her "pink carpet" baby shower.  It's a girl.  She got pregnant after filming has ended.

Whatever Ali gave up during the filming of "Stripped," she regain new stuff that are multi-purpose and high-end quality that will grow with mom and kid, at her baby shower.

Since this is a Bravo reality star's baby shower, practical brands support the baby shower, with Ali as influencer to her new legion of fans, who might be pregnant or may want to start a family.

Lucky guests of friends and family were treated to this very practical, waterproof line of totes and clutches that goes way beyond pregnancy and infants and toddlers.  Simply singles can use the Powder Room Cases as tough, durable travel-worthy makeup pouches in glazed coated canvas.  Once the kid outgrows and gets her or his own snacks, mom can still store her own snacks and makeup in these clutches.

There is the real baby shower cake and cake pops to snack on...

Thank god, there's always a sense of humor on what mom needs, a three-tier diaper cake with a coordinating baby caddy to carry the baby.

Ali Levine's Pink Carpet Baby Shower is smart and stylish.

Bravo's "Real Housewife of Orange County" star, Gretchen Rossi, lent her star power to shine a spotlight on a worthy cause, True Sioux Hope Foundation.  A charity by Oglala Sioux Native American, jewelry designer and Twila True Beauty entrepreneur and CEO and President of True Family Enterprises: True Investments, True Fresh HPP, True Venture Capital, Twila True Fine Jewelry, Polished Perfect Studios and Twila True Beauty, Twila True.

Even Hollywood celebrities, such as Janice Dickinson, lent support for the True Sioux Hope Foundation.

Twila's and Gretchen's Women's Power Brunch was a great way to use Gretchen's popularity and social pull to bring attention and focus on True Sioux Hope Foundation, where it raises funds for Sioux women, Twila's Native American tribe.  Twila is returning her good fortunes to those who need it back home.

Guests freely and happily socialized and flirted between the brunch buffet of salad and hearty grilled sandwiches inside Envy Nightclub and the backyard lounge where they can try and buy Twila's jewelry and get a Twila True manicure then buy a nail polish.  The profit made that day will be donated to her foundation's 12 Cycles program, supplying basic feminine hygiene products to girls, so they continuously go to school, uninterrupted.

In fact, Gretchen and Twila stopped the festivities, to do a speech about the purpose behind the party then showed a documentary on Twila's foundation and what the party is all about, helping young girls and women having basic necessaries that many take for granted.

There's a simple but special bracelet with the Twila True emblem, where the proceeds goes directly to Twila's True Sioux Hope Foundation.

Keep your eyes out for it and the special bracelet.

The TRUE BEAUTY WHEEL,..

Every Twila True Beauty product encompasses the four characteristics of our true beauty wheel. When all four arrows point towards the center, it is believed the spirit becomes whole again. This alignment creates balance, beauty and harmony. The circles found throughout our designs are based on the belief that everything is part of one connected circle.
