The New Parties, New Events, & The New Gifting Lounges: Drive-Ins & Drive-Thru Gifting.

 By Laura Medina

Parties, events, and gifting lounges and suites have evolved into socially-distanced drive-in screening and drive-thrus.

Still fun and glamourous but safer.

Screenings and live concerts revive drive-in theaters. Still a community, still a tribe but safer.

Not only drive-ins but driving into the drive-in event, you'll be greeted by drive-in snack packs, just like...

Drive-in gifting events, which gifting lounges became.

Politely drive single file, they first greet you a "brunch in a box" as the first station, then each station will be a vendor to treat award shows' nominees, just in case they didn't an award.

Different but we and they all get what they and we want.

Dr. Kouros Azar Performs Skincare Treatment on Actress Mariel Hemingway.

 By Laura Medina

Azar Plastic Surgery & Med Spa based in Thousand Oaks, California is known for its friendly charm and innovative technology. Dr. Kouros Azar owner and founder recently performed two skincare treatments on his dear friend and Ernest Hemingway’s granddaughter, Mariel Hemingway. In a recent treatment video Mariel explains why she chose to visit Dr. Azar stating, “Age happens especially to your face...Dr. Azar explained that these treatments are really along the lines of what I believe in because it’s encouraging your own collagen production.”

To get the most out of Hemingway’s skin and natural collagen two skin treatments were performed by Dr. Azar. The first treatment being the Profound RF Treatment which focuses on rebuilding her own collagen to make new collagen, elastin and Hyaluronic acid, thereby awakening the natural regenerative processes of her skin, improving skin texture and tone. Additionally, Dr. Azar performed a second treatment called the Secret RF treatment which is performed around the eyes and forehead to reduce fine lines, tighten the lower eyelids and improve skin texture on the upper face.

Hemingway will begin to see results 5 weeks after both treatments and up to 6 months after as well. To maintain her skin Dr. Azar suggests using the professional skin care line (ZO) which is also sold at Azar Plastic Surgery & Med Spa.

An Hollywood Tradition But For Today, Lisa Rinna's Rinna Beauty for Lips & Casa Zeta-Jones for Eyes.

 By Laura Medina

https://www.wunder2.com/pages/casa-zeta-jones

People admiring their celebrities' physical features then desiring them, is an Hollywood tradition.

People desiring Catherine Zeta-Jones' precise smoldering eyes and Lisa Rinna's plump lips are today's desires.   Now, they're approachable and attainable since Catherine and Lisa know their fans and just plain admirers are copying their best feature thru other makeup brands.  Ta-dah, epiphany!  These ladies realized they can brand makeup that make their signature features to the general public.

It’s the pout that has melted a million hearts and made Lisa Rinna a household name. Though known as an accomplished actress, designer, author, host and (Real) housewife, Lisa’s lips are her signature, a trend she started long before Hollywood’s biggest stars copied the look on the red carpet. Now, after more than a decade in the making, she is bringing her style public with Rinna Beauty, an all exclusive, 100-percent vegan and paraben-free collection of products that are also PETA-certified cruelty free. Not surprisingly, the brand is launching this November with Lisa’s Lip ICON kit, featuring different shades of lipstick, gloss and liner. The line is a collaboration with SEL Beauty, a creator of iconic beauty brands, and will be available at WWW.RINNABEAUTY.COM

“Rinna Beauty is me,” says Lisa. “It’s taking everything that I've ever known and learned in my life, whether I've been on camera or off. What’s great about Rinna Beauty is I don't have to fit into any mold. There's nothing holding me back from creating exactly what I love and what works for me. And then of course, the sky is the limit. I see Rinna Beauty as a true lifestyle brand.”

The collection, steeped in the quality and style of houses like Chanel, Tom Ford and MAC, launches in November with Lisa’s “LIP ICON” lip kit, featuring lipstick, gloss and liner. The brand is introducing three iconic nude shade kits -- “Birthday Suit,” “Legends Only,” and “No Apologies” -- that includes Lisa’s signature shades.

“I’m starting out with a lip kit because I am the lip pioneer,” she says with a wink and a nod. “I get asked a lot what lip color I’m wearing and where people can find it. And I thought, ‘Why am I not doing this on my own?”

There will be three shades of lipstick (“Rosé All Day,” “Troublemaker” and “Pucker Up, B!tch”) and lip gloss (“No Filter,” “Dancing Queen” and “Guilty Pleasure”), and the “Notice Me” liner will be available within every kit. Lisa was intimately involved with every product, trying samples, tweaking formulas, testing colors, textures and how long they last. She sent several samples back and embraced every aspect of the launch, from ingredients to packaging and marketing.”

“We had to go through a few iterations,” Lisa says. “I'm very specific about what I like. I know exactly the lip gloss and the consistency and the texture. Does it have fragrance, does it not? Does it have a taste, does it not? And I will say that, when you really want something and you know what you want, the more specific you are, the better.”

Rinna Beauty will expand its collection in 2021 with new beauty products, to be announced.

Lisa has thought about starting her own beauty brand for more than a decade but never found the right partners or the level of quality she felt comfortable putting her name to. Though she has opened a retail store, created a clothing line on QVC, written books, hosted shows and joined the cast of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” starting a line of cosmetics was something that alluded her for years. Until now.

“Starting Rinna Beauty is something that has taken forever but we finally did it,” Lisa says. “I never gave up. I had many different opportunities to do a beauty line and it never worked out. I’m talking 10-15 years of wanting to do this and it just kept not happening. And I thought, well, maybe I'm not meant to do a beauty line … maybe I should just focus on my clothing line. And then I met the team from SEL Beauty and voila, here we are.”

“Lisa is that rare talent that truly owns her style,” says Cheryl Krakow, Founder and President of SEL Beauty. “She is comfortable in her own skin, and that confidence radiates beauty inside and out. Lisa’s unmistakable look is emulated around the world, and the warmth and relatability she exudes has endeared her to millions. She is a natural choice to partner with in launching a new line and we are so excited to join her in introducing Rinna Beauty.”

Adds Lisa: “I envision this to be the most inclusive beauty line ever. And I'm talking across the board, every single human on the planet could use Rinna Beauty. How about that?”

In the realm of Hollywood, few can boast such an enduring and prolific career as Lisa. With her exotic looks, prodigious talent, infectious energy and savvy business acumen, she has become one of the most recognizable faces in entertainment, having starred on shows like “Days of Our Lives,” Melrose Place,” “Dancing with the Stars” and most recently the Bravo series “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.”  Lisa is also a frequent guest host on “LIVE with Kelly & Ryan,” and has filled in for  Anderson Cooper on his eponymous talks show “Anderson.” She also starred on Broadway as Roxie Hart in the 2007 revival of the classic “Chicago” at the Ambassador Theater, after performing in the show’s national tour.

Her chic, sexy style caught the attention of QVC, which worked with the actress in launching Lisa Rinna Collection,” inspired by her breezy, West Coast aesthetic. The line was an off shoot of the Belle Gray boutique, a clothing store (named after her daughters Delilah Belle and Amelia Gray) ran for 10 years.

An accomplished New York Times best-selling author, Lisa also has released three books, including The Big Fun Sexy Sex BookStarlit and Rinnavation, which reveals her best kept secrets for staying fit, managing weight, looking beautiful, feeling sexy and living the best life possible. As a fitness fanatic, Lisa also released a series of exercise DVDs for Warner Home Video called “Lisa Rinna: Dance Body Beautiful,” all of which offer unique high energy cardio workouts created by Lisa and “Dancing with the Stars” choreographer, Louis van Amstel.

"I created these liners to be used as the perfect, subtle metallic accent to any eye look. And best of all, they go on beautifully creamy and last all day!" - Catherine Zeta-Jones

"Everyone needs a go-to mascara, and I developed mine for all the reasons I love: not only is MY MASCARA black, lengthening, and smudge-proof, it's perfectly buildable. One quick coat for everyday, and layer it up for extra glam!" - Catherine Zeta-Jones

Curtis Stone's Foodie/Travel Show, "Field Trip With Curtis Stone," on Public Television, as a Drive-in Screening, the new fun normal.

 By Laura Medina

Following in Anthony Bourdain's beloved and hip footsteps, Chef Curtis Stone is joining a league of fellow chefs who are willing to explore culture and politics through food.

For Curtis, he wants to show and explain where and how he gets his ingredients for his dishes at his restaurants, Maude, Gwen, and his current pop-up deli/cafe, Picnic Society at The Grove.

It was, also, at The Grove, that he choose to promote his PBS/Create tv travel/foodie show, "Field Trip with Curtis Stone" as a classy, gourmet drive-in screening.

Actually, his tv show premiered then aired a year ago.

He's using "Rioja Riscal," his final episode from his first season, from a year ago, as a tasty tidbit to give a taste of what the upcoming second season of his show will be like, that will return in October 2020.   "Rioja Riscal" opened the screening.  Each episode last 30 minutes.

To prove that the goat milk and goat cheese he uses, is fresh, hilariously Curtis goes to a Spanish goat farm where he milks, squirts, then tastes fresh goat milk, from the udders.

He then finished the tasty screening with Episode 4, Season 1, "The Kimberley," https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0yQIv9gVJFA&feature=youtu.be

Since Curtis is an Aussie, it's natural for him to spotlight and highlight his homeland, Australia. "The Kimberley" episode from last year was an introduction to the upcoming second season, chunk full of Aussie episodes highlight different and various Australian towns and cities, regions, and locales, with their own unique tastes and cuisines that he brings back to his Los Angeles restaurants.

As a cool, generous Aussie, Curtis was kind enough to offer a generous snack pack to munch on, while watching his tv show screening.  They're from his temporary pop-up deli/cafe at The Grove, Picnic Society, https://www.instagram.com/picnicsocietyla/ and https://www.picnicsocietyla.com/

Topping the tote bag, are truffle popcorn, two bags of Torres Spanish Potato Chips, waffle cookies, chocolate chip and peanut butter cookies, a jar of caramelized pecan, sunflower crackers, and gourmet pack of two cheeses and fresh fruit, two bottles of Icelandic Water, and for fun, a bag of Sour Patch Kids gummies.  Man, that's a dinner for the drive-in screening!
The new normal.

Even during a pandemic and a quarantine and thanks to the human effort to evolve then thrive, if you're still lucky enough to still stick around in LA or more fortune to fly into LA, try to get a Curtis Stone drive-in screening.  You wouldn't be disappointed.   In fact, with his generous logistics, his gourmet screening may be the new standard for tv and movie screenings as a new form of premiere.

Still safe but a new form of fun.

CREAKYJOINTS PRESENTS TUMBLER AND TIPSY BY MICHAEL KULUVA VIRTUAL PRESENTATION OF THE SPRING/SUMMER 2021 COLLECTION

 By Laura Medina

CreakyJoints®, a Global Healthy Living Foundation digital patient community for people with all forms of arthritis, presented the Spring/Summer 2021 Tumbler and Tipsy® by Michael Kuluva collection during New York Fashion Week. As a designer with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and CreakyJoints member, Michael advocates for social distancing and following local guidelines to stay safe and reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Therefore, “The Newest Normal” collection event –  filmed in Canada where Michael is residing during the pandemic -- was presented virtually and premiered on YouTube on September 16, 2020 at 8pm ET. Immediately preceding the premiere, Michael participated in a live #CreakyChats on Twitter to discuss the inspiration behind his collection.

As the Spring/Summer 2021 Tumbler and Tipsy® virtual show started, viewers met with arthritis advocate Emily Sirotich, whose sleep is disturbed by pain and is seeking support from the CreakyJoints website. It wasn’t long before she crossed paths with Michael and gets magically transported to the collection presentation. Once there and in partnership with Cherrytree Records, her journey was punctuated by music from global music superstars including Lady Gaga, Sting, Shaggy and more.

“I’m thrilled to bring my COVID-conscious collection to a global audience because being physically distant does not preclude joint celebrations,” said Michael Kuluva, designer of Tumbler and Tipsy. “My new collection was inspired by my desire to inject light, color, and happiness into our world, which may feel smaller as we hunker down to protect each other during the pandemic. When I get dressed in something that looks amazing and feels great, it sets the tone for the rest of my day. I hope my collection inspires self-care.”

"My involvement in the Tumbler and Tipsy Fashion Show highlights the importance of bringing lived experiences into the spotlight.  Arthritis advocacy can take many forms, and it is inspiring to see Michael Kuluva showcase the experience of arthritis patients on the world-stage," said Emily Sirotich, a PhD student at McMaster University in Hamilton, Canada and a member of the Canadian Arthritis Patient Alliance, CreakyJoints, and the COVID-19 Global Rheumatology Alliance.

The Newest Normal

Michael continues to innovate, filling The Newest Normal with comfortable clothing that is great for lounging around in, but stands out from the crowd with high volume colors and glam touches that will make the wearer feel confident. Always inclusive, Michael’s clothing is easy to put on and many of the collection pieces will have hand-painted, glow-in the-dark details thoughtfully placed to emphasize where people living with arthritis experience pain – on the inside and out.

“The pandemic has upended everyone’s lives, particularly those who are at increased risk because of underlying conditions or living with a chronic disease, like I do. When I need support, I’m glad I can count on CreakyJoints to be there for me. CreakyJoints parent organization, the Global Healthy Living Foundation, jumped into action and launched a Covid19 patient leadership council and support program, available at GHLF.org. Additionally, I can find community day or night on their social media channels, log my symptoms into the ArthritisPower mobile app and participate in their monthly #CreakyChats,” added Mr. Kuluva.

Event Details

The Tumbler and Tipsy by Michael Kuluva virtual show premiered at 8:00 p.m. on September 16, 2020 on YouTube: http://www.virtualfashionshow.net/

CreakyJoints co-founders Seth Ginsberg and Louis Tharp said, “Every year, we’re surprised and inspired by Michael’s Tumbler and Tipsy collection, which is always inclusive without sacrificing fun or style. We congratulate him on his premiere and look forward to continuing our relationship with him because he sets an important example of how to live and live well with rheumatoid arthritis.”

"What's Cooking with Gavin Rossdale", the Rock Star Dad Cook, on Haute TV

 By Laura Medina

https://hauteliving.com/2020/07/gavin-rossdale-cooking-demonstration-new-album-kingdom-details/688098/

Musicians are always a-okay with eating and cooking, especially when being cooked for, since the young ones are always starving.

The more established musicians, such as Bush's Gavin Rossdale, found that cooking is a form of love, when he took over the cooking as soon as Gwen was pregnant then growing their family.  He manned up, took over the kitchen then discovered he always has the passion for cooking.  His spent his childhood tasting culture in Spain and France.

As he cooks his favorite family meals on Haute TV, he discusses how his travels and living influence his cooking.  He grows his own herb garden.

He do eat meat all his life but as a true foodie, he wants to know and is interested in where and how cattle is raised.  Hint, he shops Santa Monica Farmer's Market, rubbing elbows with celebrity chefs.  How's that for a tourist tip.

As an home cook, not culinary school chef-trained, he knows he'll never be perfect but practice makes perfect.  This shows how much he enjoys cooking.  He likes using stuff that you have, already at home, as long as you make it look nice.  He's good at making things, on the fly.  That's the type of guy he is, helping out at home.

He uses Kerrygold Irish Butter.  Everything in moderation.  Roux is butter and flour, yes, Gavin cooks roux.  He doesn't want to muddy up the sauce.

He uses dry white wine, like Chablis.

Gavin's idea of cheeky bit is using chicken bouillon as demi-glaze.

French Borbouex or reds, Gavin likes heavy tannin in his wines.

He likes caper in brine, since they're cheeky flavor boosts to get all the senses and flavors.

He incorporates mirepoix.

Gavin only makes dessert as a treat, with his kids.  The last time he and sons make dessert was rose ice cream.

Growing up in Britain, he didn't eat a lot of garlic but he fell in love with garlic and butter in Spain.

His sisters are good cooks. His dad is becoming one.

For "manners," he makes the dish look good.

Life is a party.

In the Chicken Cacciatore with Asparagus episode, Gavin spent the first half just making the stock alone, before he insert the raw chicken chunks to be roasted at 350 or 325, roasting in the stock broth.  Just like a chef.

In between cooking, gotta keep a clean kitchen.

On the road, keep a sharp knife and sea salt.  They go a long way.  He does cook in the bus, on the last tour.

He got some chef knife skills, dice then smash onions and garlic.

He makes fresh mayo with yolks but he wants to make one without yolks.

He's trying to cut on down meat and dairy.

He's friend with Dominique Crenn.  He mentioned to her, he's nervous about cooking on this show. She recommends he relaxes about this show.

Even while recording, he always cook like this and this is how he relaxes at home.  Cooking makes the world go around.

He grew up with a Malayan stepmom, when he was sixteen.

For crunch, he likes to top fresh vegetables on cooked dishes.

"Nothing complicated, just makes it look pretty."

Elegant like a cocktail.

While cooking, he chat his latest album, "The Kingdom," about like-minded people, no racism, no sexism, no homophobia, about enjoying living, life.

He's really good at plating.

Sprinkling black sesame seeds on top of pickled cucumbers, for texture and crunch.

He likes watching sushi chefs.

On his latest album, "The Kingdom," he describes it as heavy.  Because Bush tours so much, they only make a record, only every three years.

Regarding CORVID-19, Gavin says as long as we got our health and not sick, we need empathy, kindness, and understanding (no different from Michael Des Barres).  "We have no idea, how much we need each other.  I believe in people.  It now is painfully clear now."

"The Kingdom" is full of life, passion, and emotions. That's his life's work now, the human condition.  We still make records that people want to hear; and they still come to shows.  We have a beautiful time with the audience."  The album is really uplifting.

This is why he likes cooking, for people to connect and have a beautiful time.  "Connect with me.  The symbiosis, that we have.  It's a beautiful job and can't believe I still do it.  I don't know how but I still do it."

Gavin mentions there's a commonality between being a musician and being a chef, showing TLC, tender loving care.

He doesn't when will that happen next, but he misses performing live.  He might do a live-
stream.

Gavin really spoils people and his family through cooking.  He said they have no idea while dotting his Chicken Cacciatore with edible flowers.  He likes different flavor, texture, and crunch in one dish, makes it fun.

In this episode, his son, Zuma, was his sous chef cleaning and wiping in-between then dad Gavin said this is his lunch. Lucky kid.  Gavin gets restaurant reviews from his kids.

His cooking show is a new way to reach new audiences while showcasing a new dimension to existing fans.

His greatest luxury is the most important thing, health.

Now's here are some of Gavin's recipes:
