Hygge-ing in Your Bathroom,i.e., Turning Your Bathroom into a Spa.

By Laura Medina

With this downpour and blizzards, our drought will be over by Spring and Summer for fresh, juicy produce.  In the meantime, we just have to "hygge" in our bathroom.  The Nordic term for being cozy as relaxation is the new quiet time in this age of anxiety...and rain storms...and snow storms.

You can easily turn your bathroom in a spa sanctuary with these easy items...

Mesmerising Oudh Accord & Gold Body Wash

Affordable luxurious body wash with rich oudh accord and flakes of real gold with the notes of: spicy nutmeg oil, elemi oil, rich oudh accord, and extract of exquisite gold leaf.

Once poured into a tub or onto a washcloth, steamy depths of a spiced forest engulfs you.

This woodsy fragrance evokes a canopy of evergreens sloped along the mountain. Rare resinous heartwood, dense and dark. Honey-gold sun prisms in a downpour of warm rain.

Can't go or can't afford or too cold for you to make it a beach trip?

Salve Naturals' Detox Soak brings the sea to you, inside your tub.

Pour this organic milled Atlantic kelp into a tub, hot during Winter or cool during the Summer, for the skin and body to soak in its essential fatty acids that improve skin's elasticity, vitamin A, an antioxidant that normalizes skin cells, as well as conditioning proteins and amino acids that are the building blocks of cells.

Sure, it turns the bath water into brown-ish green but it's real kelp with real minerals.  No artifice here.

Bergamot to help soothe irritated skin, regulate excessive oiliness of the skin, and help balance the nervous system relieving anxiety and stress. Ginger has been added to help boost the immune system and increase circulation.

When used in baths, magnesium (salt) is important for combating both stress and fluid retention, slowing skin aging and calming the nervous system. Potassium energizes the body, helps to balance skin moisture and is a crucial mineral to replenish following intense exercise.

Bromides act to ease muscle stiffness and relax muscles. Sodium is important for the lymphatic fluid balance (this in turn is important for immune system function). Bathing in our high quality Epsom and sea salt blend could replenish the minerals that are critical to your skin’s metabolism.

Caution against using in the eyes or while pregnant.

As a sincere health/relaxation aid, it is best use up all within two years.

If you can't stay in your tub or steam is more your thing, the closest thing to a sauna is Stadler Form Aroma Diffuser.

Designed by Fabian Zimmerli for Stadler Form, Jasmine, an ultrasonic aroma diffuser, transforms what seems mundane, ordinary— into an inviting space with a little water and a few drops of your preferred Essential Oil.  Sitting coyly on the bedside table or at the corner of your desk, Jasmine beckons you to slow down and breathe in deeply—a gentle stream of fragrance. Elevate your senses, choosing the pure essential oil best suited as a homeopathic remedy or for aromatherapy, meeting your needs in a well-balanced space every minute of the day.
