Nars on the 2016 Golden Globes red carpet.

By Laura Medina

 MAGGIE GYLLENHAAL,
Makeup by Romy Soleimani for NARS Cosmetics

Let's face it, we're more interested in Hollywood's idea of a catwalk, the red carpet, than we who actually wins what.

The red carpet is more accessible and more approachable than the official runways of New York, Paris, and Milan on those 0.001% bodies called models.

Starlets and actresses, who are mere mortals for the rest of the year and were a few years ago, in average bodies and at average height, are today's supermodels.  Models who done it all, from acting to modeling to starting their own fashion and makeup endeavors.

Yesterday's Golden Globes red carpet was beauty and style for all sorts of physical beauty, from brunette to blonde to redhead to Latin to African-American, today's red carpet covers a wider spectrum than traditional catwalks.

NARS worked with celebrity makeup artist Romy Soleimani to create the makeup look for Maggie Gyllenhaal at the 2016 Golden Globes. Please see below for more details and the products used to achieve this look.

Beauty inspiration: "The inspiration was Bombay Deco meets Michelle Pfeiffer in Scarface!"

NARS worked with celebrity makeup artist Fabiola to create the makeup look for Sophia Bush at the 2016 Golden Globes. Please see below for more details and the products used to achieve this look.

Beauty inspiration: “The look was effortless chic in the manner of Grace Kelly. We wanted everything super minimal and fresh. We wanted to emphasize her eyebrows and give her a pop of color on the lips.”

NARS worked with celebrity makeup artist Stephen Sollitto to create the makeup look for Amy Adams at the 2016 Golden Globes. Please see below for more details and the products used to achieve this look.

Beauty inspiration:
“My inspiration is always a combination of the woman I am working with, her dress and the event. Amy Adams wore a breathtaking Versace dress in geranium. Because today's gown was such a beautiful hue, I decided not to compete with it, keeping the palette fresh with tans and bronze.”

Key NARS products used:  Velvet Matte Skin Tint (New for Spring 2016) | Raquel Audacious Lipstick

NARS worked with celebrity makeup artist Kathy Jeung to create the makeup look for Malin Akerman at the 2016 Golden Globes. Please see below for more details and the products used to achieve this look.

Beauty inspiration:
“The lavender tinted silver color of Malin's gorgeous, off-the-shoulder metallic beaded Reem Acra gown inspired me to pick up on that color for her eyes with a dewy, but refined look for the skin and soft peachy-pink lips and cheeks.”
