“The Kelly Clarkson Show” will premiere its fifth season with all-new episodes beginning Monday, Oct. 16.
The critically acclaimed, Emmy Award-winning daytime tentpole is the uplifting destination for music, humor, heart and connection, hosted by Grammy Award-winning artist and America’s original idol, Kelly Clarkson. “The Kelly Clarkson Show” will begin filming from NBC Studios in New York on Oct. 10 in its new state-of-the-art facility. The show joins a host of other iconic NBC productions at 30 Rock, including “Today,” “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” “Late Night with Seth Meyers” and “Saturday Night Live.”
NBCUniversal confirmed in May it would be making a significant investment in moving physical production for “The Kelly Clarkson Show” to New York. It includes the cost of a new state-of-the-art studio, technical facility, support team space and green rooms for guests. The show will tape in newly refreshed Studio 6A, which boasts a relaxed intimate vibe, a prominent platform for Clarkson’s house band, Y’All (led by music director Jason Halbert) and 200 seats to welcome fans to participate in a live in-studio experience. Studio 6A is the former home for previous “Late Night” series hosted by David Letterman, Conan O’Brien and Jimmy Fallon.
“I’m so excited to start our fifth season at the iconic 30 Rock,” Clarkson said. “There is such a unique energy and creative spirit that comes with filming in New York City. Y’all ready?”
Tracie Wilson, Executive Vice President, Syndication Studios and E! News, NBCUniversal Entertainment, said: “We launched the past two season premieres in New York with great success. When the opportunity to bring the show under the same roof as “Today,” Seth, Jimmy and “SNL” presented itself, we felt it was the perfect way to re-energize the show going into the fifth season.”
Added Alex Duda, showrunner and executive producer: “We can’t wait to welcome a vibrant audience to join us in studio. There will be lots of surprises and plenty of giveaways. Kellyoke fans can expect to see Kelly and her band perform impromptu duets with our 30 Rock neighbors and talent from Broadway, plus more ‘Songs & Stories’ episodes with artists such as P!NK, Garth Brooks and Chris Martin. We’ll also do our signature ‘Good Neighbor’ segment, highlighting everyday people doing extraordinary things in their communities.”
