Brie Larson's Elizabeth Zott is a Feminist in Her Own Cooking Show, Apple TV+'s "Lessons in Chemistry."

 By Laura Medina

Millennials and Zoomers, especially Millennial and Zoomer young ladies best be watching Brie Larson's fifties feminist drama, "Lessons in Chemistry," https://www.apple.com/tv-pr/news/2022/08/apple-tv-shares-first-look-at-lessons-in-chemistry-new-drama-series-starring-and-executive-produced-by-academy-award-winner-brie-larson/

Brie Larson plays the series' protagonist Elizabeth Zott, a woman chemist who's just as sharp and brilliant as her male counterparts, but trapped and punished in a white, male, chauvinistic society of the Eisenhower Fifties society.

Talk to your grandmother or great-grandmother about being brave, tough, and smart rising up in a white, male chauvinistic world, that the author of "Lessons in Chemistry" and the tv series' executive producer and lead star, Brie Larson are worried of that society returning.

A woman chemist who was downgraded to a lab technician assistant in a research center, Elizabeth Zott always had it to be a darn good cook through her love for molecular science.

But stuff happens, once she discovered true love with her equal, Elizabeth was found pregnant once her love was accidentally killed.  Remember this is the Fifties, being a single, unwed mom was enough for poor Elizabeth Zott to get fired from her research assistant job.

But,  you all know what they say about silver linings.

Once fired from her lowly lab assistant job, Elizabeth became an unexpected star when hired to host a tv cooking show.  Think of Julia Childs with a ph-level chemist brain.

Soon, Elizabeth is fighting the patriarchy while subversively teaching mollycuddled housewives about chemistry and feminism through cooking.

Watch Brie Larson slay chauvinism and racism in Apple TV +'s "Lessons in Chemistry."
