Having Fun with Smashbox's Fade to Black Collection

By Laura Medina

These scribe had fun experimenting with Smashbox's smash hit "Fade To Black" Photo Op Eyeshadow Palettes and it's universally flattering "Fade To Black" deep pink "Cognac" and the new desirable Black Cherry Be Legendary Lipsticks.

Smashbox's "Fade In Palette" is the one with the iridescent green " khaki with golden shimmer" that is dabbed heavily right in the center of the upper eyelid, directly over the iris to highlight the eyes.  The black with gold pearl smudged as eyeliner enhances the shimmering green against deep neutrals of greys and browns.

Smashbox's Be Legendary Black Cherry is the new "Vamp," a deep plum-cherry that looks like you painted your lips in merlot wine.

Smashbox's "Fade to Black - Fade Out" Photo Op Eyeshadow Palette is box of Prince's "Purple Rain" but the texture is velvety, not Eighties garish glitzy or chalky.

The color ranges from the softest pink to the richest black cranberry.  There are a multitude of violets and purples you can play around with, great for the Brown-Eyed Girls.

The pearlized Black Cranberry rim the eyelids.  Deep Matte Purple contour the crease.  Violet with multi-color sheen washes all-over the lids then the Soft Pastel Pink is dabbed heavily directly over the iris to pop out the eyes for bright but romantic look.

To keep you from drowning in "Purple Rain Goth" the lips are kept naturally nude with Cognac Be Legendary Lipstick.
