APOLLO 11: The Immersive Live Show or How to Get Kids Into American Space History.

By Laura Medina

For the July the 4th week, let's celebrate what American History and Culture contribute to greater society and to global culture and human history, basically mankind.

At the same time, let celebrate the 50th anniversary of man's first step on the Moon, the day after July the 4th, on July 5th.

APOLLO 11 is a live stage play with NASA interactive projection special effects with the model of the actual APOLLO 11 capsule.  It's the current largest traveling road show, staged inside the largest performance tent, 40,000 square foot one-of-a-kind venue, the LUNAR DOME, the new "circus tent."

They did a sneak peek of what to come during the media preview teaser.

Using the premise of one of the original APOLLO 11 astronauts' granddaughter, not caring about her granddad's involvement in history, her grandfather has to open up to her about how he is personally involved into groundbreaking history that changed the course of mankind, enough to pry her away from her smartphone and quickie social media.

The grandfather, played by Herb Mendelsohn & Raquel Cain, playing the Granddaughter.

This is where the live stage play and the special effects take place.

APOLLO 11 producer, Nick Grace,..

"Our aim is to create an unique once-in-a-lifetime theatrical experience.  We are literally taking audiences with us to the Moon and returning them safely back to earth, and we are incredibly excited to have secured this extraordinary and talented cast to tell our story."

This is a LIVE immersive theater performance show about the story of the moon landing told through the eyes of a grandfather to his granddaughterPerformed by a full cast, APOLLO 11 is a fictional take on historical events; a fully immersive show with cutting-edge projections in a 40,000 square foot one-of-a-kind venue, the LUNAR DOME.

APOLLO 11 invites audiences to go on an epic journey to the Moon and back. The story of the 400,000 individuals it took to accomplish this mission is told through the eyes of Ben, a retired NASA Aerospace Engineer, as he recounts those heady days to his granddaughter Sydney, who finds her eyes turning away from her smartphone and up to the sky as she dreams about the endless possibilities of space. This celebration of one of mankind’s greatest achievements takes audiences of all ages on the ride of a lifetime and inspires future generations to imagine what comes next.

The interactive FX play focus on the Younger Ben, played Nick Waaland, NASA Aerospace Engineer, and his young wife, Elizabeth, played by Tory Stolper, starting a new job, a new life, and unaware of changing the course of history. A wide-eyed, fresh couple.

A psychology of any show is carried on the shoulders of the costume designer, the hair and makeup artists.

APOLLO 11's costume designer got it easy.

ABC's "Astronaut Wives," https://abc.go.com/shows/the-astronaut-wives-club following in AMC's "Mad Men," provide the palette and costume, hair, and makeup guide, especially on the wives.  Considering both the play and tv series were based in Houston Space Center, these astronaut wives were consider the new socialites and semi-celebrities and proto-social media influencers, surprisingly the complete opposite of the workaholic career women and the more fashion-forward males from "Mad Men."  By displaying a maternity dress during the media preview tour, it hints of what to come in APOLLO 11.

Sneak preview snips of the play and tour of the Luna Dome and the set will be open to the paying public, the day after July the 4th, on July 5th.  But, the legit premiere for APOLLO 11 will launch on July 10th Opening Night Performance, launching its 18-city tour over the next three years.

The tour of the set and the Luna Dome, starting on July 5th is more budget-friendly but to be fully immersed in the interactive play, at full-force, will launch on July 10th Opening Night Performance.

They just added two weeks in Los Angeles. Actually, the Lunar Dome hosting the play on the Rose Bowl grounds, with engagements running to August 11th, moving onto Orange County then of course, Houston with two more cities.

Just in time for July the 4th and the 50th anniversary of man's first step on the Moon, which APOLLO 11 play is celebrating and honoring the history and the achivement, you can have the taste of Pie Hole's APOLLO 11 Blueberry-filled Pie Holes glazed in a whirly Milky Way Galaxy Lemon Icing, sprinkled with edible silver dust star sprinkles.

You can have all this by checking out APOLLO 11 Immersive Live Show at The Lunar Dome at the Rose Bowl, 1001 Rose Bowl Drive, Pasadena, CA 91103.

An "wow experience" to celebrate American History and contribution to mankind beyond one day.
