LIVEWIRE Rock n' Roll Canned Cocktails, Good Last Minute Holidays Gifts & Drinks & Thank God Gifts Year-Around.

 By Laura Medina

Created by renowned LA Bartender Aaron Polsky, LiveWire Drinks is all about the people, putting the creators of these delicious drinks front and center by making their involvement more than just a recipe, but also the image of the brand and the benefactors of their sales. If bartenders are the new rock stars, then LiveWire is a new record label. Polsky is working with the world's best bartenders to create exceptional canned cocktails using the best ingredients.

Created in Los Angeles and produced in Ventura, CA, LiveWire Drinks is the canned craft cocktail line from Aaron Polsky, one of the country’s most seasoned bartenders most recently of Hollywood hotspot Harvard & Stone.  The brand is now available everywhere in the U.S. online through www.livewiredrinks.com as well as in select specialty shops in Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco and San Diego.

Heralded by KCRW’s Evan Kleiman as the rockstar of the Los Angeles bartender scene, Polsky lives and breathes rock ‘n’ roll and the art of drink making.  It’s no surprise that LiveWire’s first offering and his most famous cocktail the Heartbreaker was conceived at Coachella. When it emerged at the festival it was very originally called the Tequila Grapefruit Mule and it sold like gangbusters. “I’d made it at a bunch of events since, and it kind of became my go-to. I played around and tweaked it for the LiveWire release,” says Polsky.  The result is a crisp and juicy blend of vodka, oroblanco grapefruit, kumquat, jasmine and ginger, with notes of honey and a bubbly finish, it’s a delightful combination of an expertly crafted Moscow Mule and the best Paloma you’ve ever had.

LiveWire presents Honeydew Collins is an electrifying mix of gin, honeydew, lime leaf, coconut and elderflower created by fellow Harvard & Stone alum Joey Bernardo and Golden God is a sensational 7.5% ABV sparkling concoction of rye whiskey and brandy with green tea, elderflower and apricot flavors created by Aaron Polsky.

Decked out in specially designed aluminum cans featuring artwork from tattoo artists like Henry Lewis (Skull & Sword - SF; Incognito Tattoo, Memoir Tattoo – LA) for Golden God and Heartbreaker and Talley Matthew for Honeydew Collins, LiveWire brings the taste one can only find in cool bars created by their top bartenders to the masses.

The Best Canned Cocktail” – New York Magazine

“To be clear, this isn’t a Cosmo in a can. But the Heartbreaker hits many of the same notes: a crisp vodka base and a citrusy core of sweet-tart grapefruit intertwined with kumquat, jasmine and ginger.”

“All the drinks are made at Ventura Spirits, with the first being Polsky’s recipe for the Heartbreaker. The can is wrapped with an illustration that looks like it came from an angsty teenager’s sketchbook, drawn by tattoo artist Henry Lewis. It features the torso of a man in zebra-print skinny jeans with a studded belt and a devil’s head on his jacket. The cocktail inside is a punchy, refreshing banger of oroblanco, grapefruit, jasmine, ginger and kumquat with vodka.” – Los Angeles Times

Look for releases by Yael Vengroff (Los Angeles’ Spare Room) to arrive in early 2021.

This past November, canned craft cocktail line LiveWire Drinks dazzled judges at the L.A. Spirits Awards earning multiple medals in the ‘Ready-To-Drink Cocktails’ category. Out of the six medals awarded in the class, LiveWire Drinks—a newcomer to canned cocktails this year--took home three with two Silver Awards for Aaron Polsky for his Golden God and Heartbreaker cans and a Bronze Award for Joey Bernardo’s Honeydew Collins. L.A.Spirits Awards panelists include spirits experts and influencers from the L.A. spirits scene and beyond, combining well-trained palates with forward-thinking ideas about where the spirits market is and should be headed.
