Nickelodeon's "The Brothers Garcia" Have Grown Up Into HBO Max's "The Garcias" with Families of Their Own."

 By Laura Medina

Nickedodeon's "The Brothers Garcia" one of the first English-speaking Hispanic cast and sitcom specifically aimed at English-speaking Latin audience in the early 2000's, is returning April 14th on HBO Max, with Hispanic and blended ethnicity Millennial families of their own, as the multi-generational "The Garcias," The Garcias | HBO Max Originals

The teen and tween children of "The Brothers Garcia," has grown into Millennial family men and women, heading their own families, running their own app companies and searching for more app ideas and opportunities as they struggle to hold onto their Hispanic heritage as All-Americans as they and America develop and evolve together into what it means to be Latin and American as they blend traditions and culture with their own blended families.

As George Garcia (Bobby Gonzalez) questions if he's "Mexican" enough as a Mexican-American, his younger brother, Carlos Garcia (Jeffrey Licon) is trying to forge new ways of family traditions with his Korean-American wife, Yunjin Huh Garcia (Elsha Kim) and their Mexican-Korean American children as his mom, Sonia Garcia (Ada Maris) is struggling to adapt her traditional Mexican Catholic traditions to her daughter-in-law's spiritualism as these two ladies fight in how to raise the two Mexican-Korean/Hispanic-Asian American daughters.  This is the absolute reflection of America now, a blending of the two most prominent and rising demographics in America, Hispanic-Americans and Asian-Americans growing and blending together, that is uniquely and realistically All-American.

All this happens during a summer family vacation in a spacious vacation house in the Mexican Riviera, while the only Garcia girl, Lorena Garcia (Vaneza Pitynski) is a busy and racially and sexually harassed local tv weather reporter, who's forced to send her son away to his brothers' families and cousins in order for him to have a vacation.  While Carlos discovered new business opportunities with the snotty All-Mexican preppies next door, big brother George is slighted by the Mexican preppies and his Mexican wife, as a Mexican-"American," George feels he's not "Mexican" enough.  This existential identity crisis is a wide-ranging and wide-spreading identity-crisis that the majority of first-generations are experiencing right now.

"The Garcias" tackled these deep issues with humor.

Wait until the last and final biting tenth episode, "George's Nightmare," where George grasping and wrestling with cultural and ethnic-identity questioning accumulated into a nightmare seriously tackling derogatory Mexican stereotypes.  His nightmare about what it means to Hispanic, mocks these insulting stereotypes.  But according to the creator and producer and director, Jeff Valdez, these derogatory stereotypes are still so sharp. that it hurt one of the actors that made her cry during rehearsals and during breaks.  However, this harmful issue still needs to be tackled, so people anywhere on the Hispanic/Latin spectrum, can be reassured that they're not alone in identity-tackling while breaking then progressing beyond stereotypes that been holding all sorts of people back.

HBO Max's "The Garcias" is an All-American show.

John Legend's Concert by Ashley Furniture & Pandora, "ASHLEY x PANDORA PRESENT HOME ON TOUR'

 By Laura Medina

John Legend's Pandora concert celebrates home with Ashley Homes.

Since John and Chrissy Tiegen are all about home, with Ashley Furniture's help, Ashley gave away home swag to make your home more chic.

Free stations of succulent plant swag but the cocktail infuser kits swags and the diffuser kits were just as popular as John Legend...

At the Diffuser Kit swag table, lucky guests to a free John Legend concert were equally lucky in crafting their own free, personalized diffuser, picking from five different fragrances with a coconut oil base with their pick of five different diffuser jars and two colors of lids; that they can mix with beige and black reeds.

John Legend, Ashley Furniture, and Pandora are all about bringing it home, while improving it with a succulent plant, while chilling over your customized diffuser and your own home-made cocktail or mocktail.

Flower Powered Dior Beauty at Miss Dior Cafe Pop-Up During Oscar Week.

By Laura Medina

Hollywood’s A-list style stars stepped out for the opening of the Miss Dior Millefiori Garden Pop-Up and CafĂ© in Los Angeles on Friday, March 18, and the event was lush with thousands of flowers — and fabulous fashion! Stylish was there and sipped the signature cocktails and participated in the immersive experiences that will be open to the public through March 27.

The opening fete was an one-night affair but it was a solid hit through out the whole week of March 21st to the very end, celebrating Oscar Sunday with a cocktail party at the pop-up cafe.

The immersive pop-up dives deep into the world of Miss Dior, a fragrance first created by Christian Dior in 1947, inspired by his beloved sister, Catherine Dior. In the interactive environment, one can discover the history of the scent, the evolution of the iconic perfume bottle and view the very gown worn by Natalie Portman in the campaign, recently on display at the ‘Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams’ exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum. The elegant haute couture gown was designed by Maria Grazia Chiuri solely for the vibrant, youthful relaunch of Miss Dior, in which Portman can be seen urging us to “wake up for love.” Guests can also enjoy custom AR experiences including exclusive Snapchat and Instagram filters that place the user in the campaign and so much more; and a many of guests enjoyed the free Dior makeovers in one corner while sipping free Dior Rose Latte, Rose French Macaroons, Rose croissants, and guzzling refreshsing Rose-Grapefruit Iced Tea, the whole day, every day, through out the week until Oscar Sunday with Sunday night's cocktail party.

Guests did all that, in a flower bouquet filled building, that represent the floral ingredient notes in the Miss Dior perfume, being promoted through-out Oscar Week.

It's evident in the free food and beverage treats, that the Miss Dior perfume notes are representative in the food and drinks.  Guests were literally soaking and digesting both French culture and Miss Dior perfume and loving every minute of it.

The perfume-theme showcased continued and went further with the delightful Dior Skincare Dinner.  Thanks to advanced nanotechnology, Dior Skincare is flower powered from the same flowers fueling Miss Dior perfume, using flowers in triple ways: fragrance, edibles, and skincare.

In Dior labs, they extract the antioxidants and stem cells from the flowers into rejuvenating skincare.

Again, the dinner not only represent the perfume and French culture, the food promote good internal skincare health...

Avocado Toasts with good oil and fat to lubricate the skin within.

Got to balance the hydrating Lychee mocktail with Lychee cocktail and Chili Margarita.

Black Truffle Artichoke Tostadas
then yes,..

The difficult to make Strawberry Pavlova meringue was the dessert and endless rounds of it, while listening and being educated on Dior's flower powered skincare and beauty.

Oscar Week, leading up to Oscar Sunday, was the loveliest week.

Oscar Night 2022 was "Winning Time" when Debbie Allen showed up with her husband, LA Laker, Norm Nixon.  Great timing, HBO's comedy-drama mini series on the rise of the LA Lakers, "Winning Time," has their son, DeVaughn Nixon, playing his dad in the mini-series, playing while telling his dad's early days as a swinging single, debonair playboy, overcoming insurmountable odds to become the all-star point guard of the Lakers. He expertly maneuvers the complexities of NBA stardom… until talented young rookie Magic Johnson arrives in L.A.

Griot Gala is an Annual Oscar sought after and coveted event that never disappoints.

Oscar Night and the Oscar Awards itself, actually started at 2pm when the red carpet opened, what people really, really, want, an haute couture runway show where their favorite celebrities model the best haute couture in imaginable ways.

This is when celebrities and guests start filing in for Charmaine Blake Red Carpet Oscar Viewing Dinner for Faber Ryan Youth Foundation, Home - Faber Ryan Youth Foundation (fryf.org), hosted by Eric Benet.

Of course, the foundation's namesake, Dr, Jay Faber, showed up at his own Oscar viewing dinner.

Actresses, Christina DeRosa and "The Young & The Restless," Kate Linder may had provided the runway show to Charmaine Blake Red Carpet Oscar Viewing Dinner, but they were more excited to rush in then settle in, to watch the actual Oscar Awards' fashion show, the Oscar Red Carpet.  It's a fashion sport.

Since the Oscar Viewing dinner party is also a fundraiser, guests can buy a souvenir during the auction, such as a gift basket that was created for the late Chadwick Boseman, just 2 weeks before he passed away. Other auctioned items include an original etching by Pablo Picasso, a Norman Rockwell painting, and a Magic Johnson portrait.

Special guest Eric BenĂ©t did an amazing job hosting the event. The auction was filled with priceless pieces of art from Picasso to Norman Rockwell. One lucky attendee went home with a unique Michael Jordan piece that had rings from Jordan’s championship seasons with the Bulls. There were live performances along with a delightful three-course dinner from Top Chef Elijah Brown from Las Vegas, NV. The HUSL displayed their NFTs along with their HUSLVERSE that is soon to be released on March 30th! There were past and present Oscar nominees in attendance with a large red carpet. Eric BenĂ©t introduced Jason Derulo who was unable to leave Dubai in time.

Oscar Night 2022 was Winning Time.
