Classic rocker, Jared James Nichols was bummed that his Bourbon Room concert was cancelled due to rising COVID-19 cases-again.  He was so looking forward, like this scribe, to checking the venue.

He'll try to make it next time, but for now, it's all Zoom and phone interviews, like this morning from his new home in Nashville.

Because of Gibson Guitars, he moved to Nashville and loves it!

After 9 years being Hollywood-based and touring for 319 days out of the year, to 32 countries, why not make Nashville home?

Don't worry, he's still an Old School Classic Rocker, with an up-tempo.

With his latest release, "Bad Roots," he discussed about how you deal with bad things and bad experiences in life.

Either you hold a grudge about them or you build off them, move on, then make them positive.

He deals with them, with his guitar.

Jared, "We can't hide from bad things."  It's how you deal with them.

The whole goal with each song, is that it has its own story and music.

Jared, "I never thought in a million years, I'll be doing music boat cruises."

But, he is and he does.

Think of music festival on the high seas.

From October 29th to November 3rd, Jared is part of KISS Kruise.

Yes, KISS has it's own "booze cruise."

In fact, Jared has done several music festival cruises, out on the ocean, Monsters of Rock Cruise, Keep Blues Alive Cruise, Rock n' Wrestling Cruise, and now KISS Kruise.

He never thought, growing up in Wisconsin listening to Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and The Who, he'll be doing music "booze cruises" in a million years, but people have major fun.

The wildest cruise he ever did was the Rock n' Wrestling Cruise.

Each cruise attracts a different audience.

Rock n' Wrestling Cruise, it was so crazy. Partying non-stop and the wrestling. Nuts on the ocean.

On a music festival cruise, everything is amped up. No driving. No responsibilities. Drinking all day.  People let loose.  Pretty wild and crazy.

He calls this, doing something  wild and special.

How to Prep for La Jolla Fashion Film Festival's Catwalk of a Red Carpet.

 

In a decade's long La Jolla Fashion Film Festival, they make sure their red carpet is a catwalk.

It's where La Jolla's established throw an excuse to dress up while spotlighting fashion films and videos.

After being quarantined, these folks are dying to express their creativity in fashion and style in the perfect California climate.

La Jolla's art house movie theater, The Lot, was ground zero for the festival.

The attendees and nominees were the town's eye candy.

If you were lucky enough to be invited on the red carpet, from all the way from LA, three to five hours away, depending on traffic, it is best to book an AirBnB or an hotel, because the cafes shut at 3pm sharp, no excuses.  It is best to check into your rental or hotel room the day before, before 3pm.

La Jolla is locals only beach town year-around.

Shutting down for the 3pm nap is the habit here, no amount of Southern Charm or LA assertiveness can change that.

La Jolla is a morning town. Their amazingly yummy breakfast and brunch cafes and bistros open at 7am in the morning sharp.

La Jolla is physically pretty. They COS Bar Cosmetic Boutique for your red carpet needs. The local Lagree Pilates Plus and f 45 Crossfit get pumping at 9am sharp.

By 3pm, tourists and red carpet invitees are SOL because the locals are ready to nap.

Things don't get open until 5pm or 6pm dinner time.  This time, it's the real restaurants then they go to bed by 10pm.

This is "Pose" 2021edition.  It went from '80's and '90's Manhattan lofts and apartments to literally, one big, affordable house, all under one big roof.

A "House" is a family or according to House of Avalon, a gay gang of gay men and drag queens, a family all supporting each family member, emotionally, physically caring for one another, and helping each other getting dressed and styled.

It went from sweaty, crowded underground, basement ballrooms to progressively shooting a tv commercial with queer-owned, cannabis soda, CANN Hi Boy sodas, starring with gay Olympian Ken Gusworthy, arm-wrestling in his briefs.

This is an huge leap for LGBTQ, bursting out of closet, into screens,  promoting soda.

In another historical moment, House of Avalon and CANN Hi Boy sodas threw a launch for both House of Avalon documentary and Ken Gusworthy's CANN Hi Boy soda tv ad at Tramp Stamp Granny.

The first real party, out of quarantine with appetizers and plenty of CANN Hi Boy sodas.

Out of the basement, out, loud, and proud into mass consumerism.
